I can honestly say that I've never felt this stressed over horses!

I seem to be changing my mind daily about which horse to keep - sharer jumped Oscar today and he was a superstar and I thought 'what the hell am I doing giving up my dream horse?'

Rode Ty out on a hack - he was a good boy but the whole time I wanted to be on Oscar.

I really don't know why this decision is so hard. Think it's because Ty will always be my baby but we just don't gel in the saddle. Maybe I should loan him out to a dressage/show/hacking home and see how he gets on?

I'm really at my wits end and I thikn I need a slap.....

Sorry to go on and thanks for everyone who's been so patient with me x

Do you know anyone who would like to ride him and maybe still keep him where you are?

I think if you are really, really finding it sooo difficult that, that may be your answer.. Or even if he's not far away so you can see how he's getting on?

Wouldn't like to be in your shoes at the mo.

It's just hideous - I'm on the verge of tears all day!

I have to say that when I advertised Ty I was upset but now that I've decided to rehome Oscar I'm alot worse.

I'm seriously considering selling both and just giving up - I really can't take the upset of it all.

Id say you have to keep your dream horse if you gel a lot better than with ty but dont want to lose him for good then loan him to a hacking showing home if thats what he can do ! You have to think of you now and if you can loan ty then you get the best of a horrible situation to be in. Im glad im not in it! Can you not keep them both?

Not an option to keep them both unfortunately. I want to go to uni next year and cannot clear all debts and keep both horses......

Sorry I can't help you as I'm in the same position myself. I posted earlier today to see if people could help me make up my mind and just discovered that there are lots of people out there who wouldn't be able to make a decision either. These horses must be pretty damned special if we feel so strongly about them.

If it was me, i'm afraid I would be tempted to get rid of the one that would sell more easily, and in this case its Oscar.

If you are going to be doing little with your horses over the next few years then Ty is probably the better one of the two to keep

That is such as shame, yeah i would have to agree that your best option would have to be to see if anyone would loan 1 and keep it at where you are now.

I've been doing some working out and really it's only over this winter that I'll have a problem competing every weekend but should still be able to get out once a month. I already have a sharer who is more than competent to compete Oscar aswell.

in that case then you probably are better putting ty on loan. At least then you will know he is ok, rather than just being passed around

How about advertising both for loan but stating they have to stay at the present yard, That way whoever you find a good loaner for first that your happy with go's on loan and the desicion is made for you.
Alternativly could you advertise for part sharers for both, someone who pay half. that way you are still only paying the same amount as for one and you get to have both?
Good luck ((hugs))

I have a sharer for Ty and one for Oscar already but it's hard to find someone who will pay half really - being a control freak I'd like a bit more say in them!

Prob is I probably ride Ty once every month so I couldn't see that changing if I kept him really....
