I can't beleive it...

I have just had to take Pickle, my 13 week old patterdale to the emergency vets as she was crying in pain and really poorly this afternoon. She is at this moment being operated on, they say it is a strangulated hernia which is potentially fatal, I am waiting at home for them to call, I can't believe it - she was bouncing around as normal this morning, but she was in so much pain this evening it was horrible! The vets wouldn't say whether she was going to be ok or not!! I don't know what to do with myself...

God I hope so, they said not to expect to hear anything until 10, she is so tiny still I am so scared about her going under anaesthetic.

Oh no!! hope she is ok!! i'm sure the vets will know what they are doing. Finger and toes crossed for you and your little pup!

The vet just called and said they are postponing the op for an hour or so, as he has managed to pop whatever was sticking out back through from the outside, and they are giving her fluids etc to get her strong for the operation!! Now I have to wait until after 11 to call them!! And I thought horse ownership was traumatic!
