Some members may remember me telling you all about my TB who had started to object to leg aids after a kick.......

he went to the vets for tests, and he has serious kissing spine - i just cant believe it and feel so guilty that he has been ridden (albiet not much siince problems started).

The vet said he must be coping well (7 joints are affected in a row), and he has to have 4 months off then be reassessed. Im not holding any hope - 50/50 chance he will eb a light hack (i couldnt ride him knowing the extent of it anyway). He is not suitable for the op due to age and a pelvis prob. Im so gutted, hes the best horse ever and its such a waste.

Hes going to be spoilt rotten!!

Awww thats sad news. Im sorry to hear that. Try not to be too hard on your self though, you were'nt to know what the problem was.

Hope he makes some kind of improvement. {{{hugs}}} to you.

Thats really sad I know how guilty your feeling .I thought my tb was lazy and had been working him hard to sort his schooling out ,turns out he had arthritus in his hock .He has gone for surgery today.Horses just cant tell you if they are in pain its a good job that you recognised his discomfort it might have been missed .Dont feel bad about it.How old is he?
