I was chatting to a new girl at the yard today, she was telling me that her horse came from Sussex Horse Rescue. She phoned them the other day to tell them she had moved yards and the owner was in a panic because in the last 2 weeks 15 horses have been returned from loan homes because of the weather!!!

I can't believe people would give up so easily because of a bit of rain.
 
that's ridiculous, but fully believable.
It seems to me, some people jump on any chance to get rid, without having to admit they can't cope/don't want the horse anymore.
A fair few have come to Mossburn from such irrespnsible idiots

That absolutely sucks. It's a bit worrying that the rescue centre would give horses out to people so clearly lacking in commitment and/or knowledge?

Sadly there are plenty of people in life who want to dispose of things the minute they run into an obstacle (but this one is IMO not even an obstacle!)

That is just ridiculous.

I'm afraid coming from a Scottish family and spending so much time up there as a kid, I really don't mind the wet and cold, even when it's muddy and mucky.

I have to say the horses don't always appreciate being taken out in the rain, and if the weather is really nasty we do give them a 'day off', but as they both live out, they are not adverse to bad weather either.

Some people are just far too domesticated!
