Question for any Phsyio/medical experts - long winge -sorry!!,

I got bucked off one of my yougsters last Friday and hit his neck on the way over. I got back on and finished my lesson just a bit winded/stiff. Obviously sore on saturday and sunday but have felt better since monday - until I got up this morning and Its really sore to breath, move cough or sneeze - my team at work think its great to try and get me to laugh - theres no bruising so I doubt ive broken anything but does anyone know how long it takes to heal from a knock like this - got two other youngsters that ive just got going well and cant bare the thought of giving them any more time off! been told no point going to GP as even if broken theres nothing they can do anyway

When still jumping, I once done a belly flop over a jump onto had mid-summer ground at a show (with back protector on). I never had any bruising come out round my middle but felt as though I may have had internal bruising as, like you say, after a few days I was just sore as! Must admit, never went to GP but try my hardest not to. After a few more days the soreness reduced and I just carried on as normal.

although there is no bruising that is visible it does not mean there is no damage. My hubby used to do security and got the s** kicked out of him at work.He had no visible bruising whatsoever but like you it hurt to breathe, cough, laugh etc.He had cracked several ribs.I suggest you go and get your ribs xrayed as it is a possiblity you may have cracked a rib which has possibly not been obviously apparant at the start and is only obvious now due to the internal damage having settled. It is not unusual for a fracture to fail to show up at first and only showing several days later. It is important you get this checked out as if there is a fracture it could possibly get worse and cause you some really serious problems.

Thanks, Was just puzzled that its suddenly got worse - will get it checked out tomorrow if the doctors receptionist will find it in her heart to get me an appointment before Christmas that is!
