..... as at 24 I still love ponies!!!!!

They are the most fun thing to ride. I have been having a fab time on my share horse (a 15hh overgrown connemara) and am going to offer to take him on full loan tomorrow/lwvtb as owner really not doing much on him anymore (wish me luck

)

I try to desire a more substantial ned and I enjoy riding them - but there is something about a pony/pony brained horse that just makes me happier than anything. I always get the comments ' is that your sisters pony' etc but sod them! I just don't think you can beat them for versatility, fun and easiness to keep.

Is there anyone else out there who is a self confessed pony addict or should we all grow up and ride 16.2's dressed in pressed pikeur breeches!?!

i'm 24 and mine is 14.3h. i would never have anything over 15h, i like ponies, i ride them better than horses. 100% ponies all the way!!!

and... you can still dress your ponies up in all the same horsey gear you would a 16.2h

i admit im one!!! im 24 and 5'3 weighing at 8.5 stone and still have a 13.2 pony!!! (who was just a project to bring on to sell ) and have a 14.2 hunting pony
blush.gif
) i think they are so much more fun im still a big child at heart! although recently hacked out my friends 17'3 hanoverian mare and really liked having something bigger underneath me altough i couldnt own something i had trouble tacking up or rugging he he!! (she had to tack up for me!!)

Oh yes my lad looks dashing in 'the gear'... the white hues on stretch and flex boots look fab on his steel grey legs

Was tempted by a cuddly ponies rug once but thought I'd better stick to adult gear!

well luckily for mine she is too big for cuddley ponies stuff as she wears 6ft rugs (blame the big welsh sholders!) but i'm 5ft 6 9st and look fine on her. ponies just feel right for me, i have had bigger horses on loan but i just seem to ride ponies better!

mine is prolited out- prolite boots, saddle cloth, padded bits its soooo coooooll

Im still 16, but im 5'11 so dont really fit on them anymore

But it didnt stop me taking my favourite lil pony out for a gallop y'day

Used to ride her when i was 10. Soo much fun!

am with you, 25 and mine is 14.2, can just about manage a 15.2 but have a tendancy to vertigo if any higher and just not as happy up there.

I'm 43 on Sunday and I love ponies too. I am too tall for them at 5'6" so I bought a 15.1hh Welsh Section D - Looks and acts like a pony, but bigger. Cute face and fantastic character.

I also have a 13.2hh New Forest companion for him. She loves lots of fuss and attention. I feel too big for her so I take her out on lots of walks - just like a big dog.

Love them both dearly.

I have a 14.2hh connie who i never intend to grow out of. suppose its easier as i do mountain and moorland classes so i can easily compete him
smile.gif

may aswell be happy on a pony than unhappy on a horse and feeling overhorsed
smile.gif

i was never really in ponys lmao, my first pony was 14.2 my second was 14.3 then after that i went to 16.2 and now i have him and my 15.2 lol

Heheh i never really had my own pony as such but i stole my sisters pony :P although was justified by the fact she didnt ride him for 1 year and he was a little bronc :P was 5'4'' and looked a tad big, we went on 7 hour hacks and SJ up to 3'0'' though he jumped over 3'6'' with me( hes the little bay guy jumping the red and white jump in my sig) but i sold him last year
frown.gif
although hes gone to a lovely home i still cant beleive i sold him as he was my best little man.
Heheh the above sounds so like me in the fact that i brought myself a 13.1hh project to sell on last year and still havnt sold her. She is the craziest, naughtiest little shat ive owned but the most successful horse/pony i owned. Winning 7 trophies in 5 shows and only once not getting placed and always got through to the jump off. We SJ to 3'6'' and get some angry looks from the many horses we beat lol first show next week end cant wait for her crazyness lol
Although i own a 15.2hh and a 15.3hh they arent quite as fun as my pone :P
laugh.gif

I love riding Ponies, they just seem so full of character and fun!

Unfortunately I am 6'1" so ponies just don't suit, although I sometimes steal a ride on my friends 14.2hh coblet which I feel so comfortable riding!

I love my little poneh!
laugh.gif
(my 11.1hh Welsh Sec. A - who I've had for 6 years now)
and my little horse too xD Wouldn't have anything over 15.2hh ever - considering I'm about 5'4 and weigh 48kg I don't really want to be sat on a huge horse that's gonna cart me around all over the place!
Though I got to ride someone's nearly-miniature-shetland (miniature x 'normal' shetland :P) last year, what a laugh! My feet nearly touched the floor and trying to rise to that trot was hilarious!! Wish I'd got some photos now...

I'm 23 (24 september) and i've had a 16.2 for 3 years but he's driven me so mad i've now got a 14hh pony too. I jump senior bsja on him and he's much more fun than my big boy. He's much easier to have around too. i'm also riding 4 ponies for other people at the mo 2 14.2's and 2 13.2's it's fun and i get paid
laugh.gif

I'm 5'8" and i have just bought a 14.1 play thing!
Proper fast pony and bags of fun!!

he's for when schooling the big boys becomes tedious
