I can't win can I? Trials and tribulations of a YO

Enfys, I really do understand what you are going through. I have had the same with liveries totally ignoring the rules, simples ones like close the gates, so horses dont escape. Park on the back drive if you have a horse on the back yard, don't bring in season bitches to the yard and all dogs must be tied up on the yards, but can be loose in the fields. I have liveries who see the rules and assume they are for everyone else. I have tried asking them nicely, to no avail. So I now text and say DO NOT xxxxxx xxxx. And also I repeat the rule in the monthly news letter I put in with the bills. I have given up feeling uncomfortable about it. My yard....... my rules. if they don;t like them (and to be honest there are only rules for the benefit of everyone) then they can leave. Some people almost seem to resent the YO for having a yard, and making the '£millions' from it! They are either incredibly stupid or incredibly ignorant. You should not have to explain to them why not to do it. It is a rule, theirs is not to reason why!
 
Agree with above. If you've put in the contract where horses etc can tie up then I'd be inclined to give them formal written notice and get rid.

Coz people like this who are rude and inconsiderate can end up infecting the whole yard with their venom and one day you'll find everyone ganged up against you and you'll wonder what you've done.

If they've not been there long and been repeatedly asked politely, and cajouled, to comply with a simple request, and are being a nuisance to your other liveries and yourself, then send them up the road!! Life's too short.
 
These liveries have only been with you a very short time & are flouting the rules already & doing what they feel like. If you don't stop this immediately it will cause problems with the established liveries as they will see it as 'one rule for them & another for the others' & this is not good. There is little doubt that if they aren't pulled up on this they will ignore other rules & do what they want & this will upset your yard further.

Tell them in no uncertain terms & that you don't expect to have to tell them for a third time not to park there. You don't have to give them any reason, you're the bl@@dy owner & what you say goes. If they continue to ignore you then show them the door. They can try & find another yard to upset.

It sounds like you have a nice place & you will have no difficulty finding other nicer & more respectful clients. :)
