Well i am so pleased with chubby!! he was such a good boy. I Think i knew deep down he would be fine thats why i went ahead and bought the trimmers!
I bought some liveryman element trimmers to do a low trace on him - he has never ever been clipped in his whole life!! and i was slightly worried with him being so dramatic about everything!! but i thought well i might as well try as i wanted to school him quite hard over the winter so he is ready for next years showing season and maybe some jumping
So i showed him the clippers and he did exactly what i expected " GAHHH!! .... What the hell are they ... get them away...ATTACK!! " but after he expresed his concern i went up to my OH head - Ciscos homeboy! - with the clippers with cisco on the end of the lead rope - flicking his forelock from side to side - and ' pretended ' to clip my OH head!!
Cisco chewed and then his head came down - very rare - and walked right up to me tryed to eat the clippers and then went ok!! and away i went i did a low chase clip on him and he stood the for 45mins while i did it resting his back foot eyes closed!!
The next day the clip needed tidying round the edges - i was slightly worried he might not be the same today - showed him the clippers and his respone was " Well get on with it ! " and he was fine i was so happy i was jumping up and down with joy!! But me doing that was more terrifying than the clippers!
And i was very impressed with my liveryman element trimmers - they were brill!!
Result a very happy owner and a very non sweaty happy horse!!
and youngster with square patches on him ;P - i got a bit clipper happy!!
Anyone who gets this far can have a mud covered bridle and saddle!!
and a cornflake cake!! YUM!!
