Axels knee was really swollen tonight, and he was lame

I cold hosed it and put a cold pack on for 20 mins then put his magnetic wraps on overnight.
Please keep your fingers crossed he's ok.

Vet did say it might swell up again, but I'm not happy with how it looks at all, and he was sound this morning on it.
Will ring vet again in the morning if no improvement.

Probably needs more AB's and bandaging. Our pony's limbs swell up if a fly lands on them - and go up and down like you wouldn't believe. Except he's not lame..... Sounds to me like more infection as it's infection which makes them sore.

Aw hon, TBH if its really that swollen he probably would be lame. The tightness of the skin would make it ever so hard for him to walk. Talk to Ben tomorrow and see what he says. The fact that he was sound is good though very good. Fingers crossed for you and Axey.

He had an infection and has been bandaged up on box rest since thursday, has 1 more day of antibiotics to go.

Really worried as vet said there is a slight possibility of a bone chip, and if swelling isn't down he would have to go for an x ray.
Was really pleased with him this morning as he was not swollen and sound as anything. He's been in all day and I'm keeping my fingers crossed its that, like I said the vet did say it could swell up again once the bandage came off, but it's the lameness that's really worrying me.

I'm crossing my fingers, it may be unrelated...has he been kept inside more because of the weather?

I had the all clear from the vet to put him out today and ride as I would normally. I didn't put him out today as I felt he would be too lit up and the ground was very slippery.
Was going to ride tomorrow and turn him out on thursday (we are still on alternate day turnout, it was the geldings turn today)
So I put him in the school for a bit of a leg stretch this evening and he went galloping about like an idiot, when I finally managed to catch him he was lame
