For those of you remember my post a few weeks back moaning that my oh won't let me have a whippet.......well I finally persuaded him :D

I think it was having my parents dog to stay that did it, he finally saw that 3 dogs in the house is not a problem, yay :D:D Can't stop grinning now - need a boingy smilie or something :D:D

So the search is on for our new whippety dog! I'd prefer a young adult to a puppy and a dog rather than a bitch, but I'd be prepared to take on a project so long as it will get on with existing dogs and child so if anyone knows of a suitable candidate let me know.

Must wait for the right dog and not get the first one I see. Must wait for the right dog and not get the first one I see. Must wait for the right dog and not get the first one I see......

I read this earlier at work but couldnt reply as I was at work - I cant believe no-one has replied

But that is fantastic news, and I am soooooo jealous as I want a whippet too :D

You could try www.grwe.com and look at their dogs for re-homing - there are lots of big greyhounds but also a good number of crosses and smaller greyhounds there which might fit your requirements?

Good luck in finding one - and you are right, dont go for the first one you see :p You will know when it is the right one, he will find you and it will just all come together....:D:D:D

Thanks Gazey. Bandit on GRWE looks lovely but one of our requirements is all dogs must fit in our current car so I need a dog under 23" really. I so need more willpower though - I don't dare go to rescue centres because I want to bring them all home with me

The biggest of my three is 23" at the shoulder, and they are greyhounds or (in Amy's case) a greyhound cross :)

Ickle Flickle is a pure bred greyhound and is only 21" :D

Brownmare, sorry, I got carried away and forgot to say - yay! I met a gorgeous grey whippet yesterday, had never seen a grey one - so so pretty :)

The grey ones are gorgeous aren't they, and the fawn ones, brindle are pretty too and my lurcher is a blackie so obviously I love those too......

Really I suppose the most important factor for me is that the new dog gets on with our Jack Russell bitch Susie who is a bit choosy about her friends. Oscar the lurcher loves everyone so he is easy to please

Where did you get yours from? Oscar is 28" and he looks like a pure greyhound although he hasn't got an ear tattoo and as he is a rescue and we don't know much of his history (RSPCA think he was left behind when gypsies moved out of town) we tend to say he is a lurcher. Must find a photo of him :D

Islay and Flick came from GRWE - and Amy came from Cayla on here :D I saw her photo and just nagged and nagged until Cayla gave in :p - I did think she would be a bit bigger than she is though  I felt short changed :D

Blazingsaddles - thanks he looks so gorgeous, like a mini version of my lurcher :) but a bit far away. I'm in Oxfordshire.
