Just got back, I very nearly chickened out but I knew I would be dissapointed in myself so that pushed me into doing it.

I had two good slugs of rescue remedy before hand and off we went, he planted once just before coming out of our gateway but I purposefully wore my wellies (I know not ideal) so I could tap my whip on them, it worked like a dream. He was a bit spooky/jumpy but nothing too bad and at silly things like a open gate, different coloured hedge etc (typical horse eating things) but I talked/sang to him the whole way. We did a horsey version of 'if you're happy and you know it' - good job that it's rare to see traffic cause they'd think I was nuts ;-)

Now going to treat myself to sausage/mash/gravy with ice cream for afters!!!

Thanks for all your support/advice earlier xxxx

Ah thanks, I'm pretty dam chuffed with him and me! I know it's not alot to some but to me it's like I've been round badminton!!

My tea was yummy, all the better from the fresh air xx

and now you can do it again the moro hee hee x
well done, baby steps xx
keep going, it will take time but it will be fabby the day you just get on without thinking and fly thru the stubble fields xx

It's the best feeling in the world when you crack it, well done! I remember the first time I got mine back out again by himself after he'd been difficult for some time so had had to hack with others. It was fantastic.

Well done - I too will be very pleased wit myself when I pluck up the courage to do that, can imagine only too well how chuffed you must be with yourself, glad it was such a success!! Good old Rescue Remedy!!
