I jumped a hedge!!!! Out cubbing earlier. Twice!

I have a pathological phobia of hedges and have done since pony club camp when I was 14, then a pony bolted with me out hacking once and went over 2 hedges as it did so........so purposefully haven't done ANY hedges since then [even out hunting, I'd find anything to jump other than a hedge!!!].

BUT. Today I did it!!! Granted it wasn't a great big hedge, quite tiny in fact probably, but to me it's still a hedge!!! Whether it's 3ft or 5ft bears no difference to me, as hedge = BAAAAAD in my brain haha!

Photographer was there for it too, so shall post links when they're online! Though I will look like CRAP no doubt as I remember having my eyes closed pmsl.

But I don't care....I jumped a hedge again finally!!!

Jealous!! I've only ever jumped hedges at hunter trials and XC schooling, never been hunting :(
Hoping to go this year if mum finally lets me, i know my boy would love it! :) (she's come round to the idea of hound exercise, but think the word 'cubbing' would put her right off again :rolleyes: )

Call it 'hound training' then....as that's what it is atm :) I'm just used to calling it cubbing still lol. Old habits die hard lol. :p
 
Not quite conquered, but a step in that direction lol. Took one look at the 'proper' hedges and they're pretty hardcore lol! Higher than my horses head!!! Shall be a while before I even contemplate doing one of them...
