Sorry everyone, probably pointless post, just really wanted to share!:) After total confidence crush, being bucked three or four times in the row on canter, i could not even think about doing it. Every time i tried go faster then slow trot(indoor school)i had hot flashes and couldn't breath from fear. When i tried cantering,i just started to cry cos it was really scary(stupid, isn't it?). So,after some slow work, i had tiny canter in school for couple of days, and today i've done unthinkable-i had a tiny canter down the field:D. I'm feeling so happy, like i won most prestigious competition:D.Whoo hooo!!!! Im not hopeless, and i can do it!!!

I can relate to that, I had a lesson where every time I asked for canter she bucked. For weeks my legs were jelly when I asked. Now about 2months latter I have started to jump again next big hurdle - excuse the oun. Congtars

There is nothing like concoring your own fears well done and keep it up.
I had simular problems when my horse was younger and had a lesson with someone which did not go well. So I kept with the instructor who though pushed me understood how much to push. When I saw the other instructor a few years later she said 'are we cantering yet' I just smiled sweetly and said no even though I go off for miles with plenty of canter!

Good for you very well done. After being bucked off quite badly (I know there isn't a good way to get bucked off) I was terrified of cantering so much so that when I was in the indoor school I could not even walk my horse round it without turning on the tears. I feel ashamed now to think of it but it's true, my brain just went into overdrive. Anyway, now back cantering round the country side on same horse that bucked me off. Still get a bid wobbly in certain circumstances. Keep up the good work.

Well done stupid me got thrown off horse I had gone to buy and it has completely ruined my search for a horse (especially as it didnt buck). BUT I really am missing having a riding horse and just am looking after the retiree and hope one just turns up. But I absolutely agree all that positive riding can go out the window in one moment and take a hell of a long time to return. I wish when I was younger I had been taught to fall properly(if thats possible)! When I did fall off I did try to keep rolling as I went out the side door and it sort of worked.

that would be cool if we got lessons to fall off i might not be on crutches again!!!

Fabulous, well done, I know only too well exactly how you feel so totally get how elated you must fee and quite rightly so. Keep up the good work and the positive attitude you will inspire us all to keep facing and overcoming our demons, and many, many of us seem to have them,no matter how silly we know it is sometimes, all we can do is one step at a time. Large glass of wine for you hun!!

Thanks everyone for your support,it really means a lot to me! And here is the proof if me cantering today!
