So I went to watch War Horse last night with OH, his sister and her boyfriend. I loved the film but I DIDN'T CRY?!

Have to be honest, I had much higher expectations for it after reading the book and hearing how amazing the play is.

What did you all think of it? And did you cry? One man in our screening was bawling like a baby :)

I'm going to see it today with my daughter.

I'm guaranteed to cry. I cry just at slow-motion footage of horses galloping, it's just the pure beauty of them. My OH teases me that just a few notes from the theme tune of Black Beauty and I'm off....

I'm the same! I teared up watching the trailer. I've already warned the mister that I'll be a mess from start to finish.

I haven,t seen it yet but was sobbing at the end of Flicker that I watched yesterday. Also when they ran the credits they showed lots of pictures of girls with their horses and pony that kept me sobbing.

I coped better than I thought I would and just cried near the end. I thought it was a wonderful film and a good tribute to horses and people who suffered during WW1. Felt quite exhausted by the end though!

I have seen the play and read the book and last night watched the film. IMO the theatre play is far far superior than the film but I enjoyed the film anyway. The film has the proper ending to it as in the same as the book.

I cried a lot! it was amazing and there were a couple of scenes that I had to turn my head away! I really enjoyed it, and I have the utmost respect for the real war horses, and so have made a donation to the Brooke as a result. Haven't seen the play or read the book but think I'll cry through that too!

Lol, thats so funny as i was the samewith flika! I was all 'please dont let the horse die'!
Not sure about the war horse film, book had me in tears, the trailer where there is a bit of joey just looking whistfully at the camera choked me up! We'll see, may watch it later, tissues ready!

I did!

I saw it last night & cried for about the last 10 minutes from that bit with the black horse & gun carriage. My mates who I went with also cried.

Didnt look like anyone else in the cinema did though...

I saw it last night. Good film... but not as good as I expected. I found myself welling up at the end but no crying from me I'm afraid!

Found certain parts pretty unbelievable, but then to be fair found some bits very funny, some very uplifting and in the war scenes some also very sobering bits.

Worth seeing all the same.

Didn't cry, imo it's been overated I wouldn't watch it again.
However my friend and sister who came with me loved it.
