I don't know what to do...

Thats hypocritical... calling someone a bully, and then saying something like that.

I guess the post you commented on was aimed at me, but it seems to have disappeared. Don't worry on my account - water off a ducks back! I'm still chortling at my PM!! Apparently, I am a nobody - but, Hey! I'm fine with that!

Poor you I bet your gutted.

If you dont click together then sell her, there is absolutely no failure in this as some horses just dont suit some people. Its probably nothing to do with her management its just that you plain and simply dont click together. It is sad and you will feel guilty but in the end you have to be happy with your horse.

Auslander - it was aimed at bobthingy (can't remember the username - sorry :o ) about what she said to you, if that makes any sense? :o :p

I know - her quote just didn't come up in my quote, if that makes sense! Thanks for sticking up for me! Not that I need it, I'm highly amused by being selected as the target!

Ah, I see my bad! Misread your last message :o haha, no worries. I do feel left out though, I didn't get a nasty PM :p

It took me a while to click with my horse too. I had not long before lost my horse of a lifetime and couldn't help comparing my new boy to my old one, whom I (still and propably not entirely deservedly) put on a very big pedestal. I adore him now nearly 8 years on, it just took me a while to 'get' him and I underestimated how long it took him to really settle with me.

I think it's important to remember that horses aren't calculating (for want of a better word) like we are, they only react to what they are presented with. In the end with my boy I realised I had to make the first move and for a few weeks I almost had to pretend to adore him. I cwtched him, spent some time with him (not grooming him as he hates it, which was one thing I found hard to deal with!) took him for walks to really lovely grass etc and almost tricked him into loving me back. Before I knew it I was head over heels. We now have cwtches when he's lying down in the field which I could never do with my old boy as he'd be on his feet the secnod he saw me. I've even been known to sit there with him for over an hour rather than riding! He's the most cuddly affectionate boy going - unless he's being brushed then he's a cross between Basil Fawlty and Victor Meldrew!

It might be difficult for you if you're not feeling your best, but it might be worth giving it a try. Be really positive and happy around her and she might start giving it back a bit. If you can't, or it doesn't work I'd agree that selling her is your best option and don't feel guilty about it. It's too expensive and time consuming a hobby not to enjoy it.

Bit disappointed I didn't get one tbh, I was looking forward to a lesson in horsemanship from bobaknob. I feel horrifically inexperienced not having all the money in the world and an OH that will buy me disposable stallions :(

Me too! I have to work ( in PR as well, which Boba thinks is a highly undesirabe profession for some reason) to earn enough to allow me to scrape by with my grotty little horse. And everything I know came from a textbook.... Life sucks
