To all of the wonderful people on here who have sent me messages, and responded to my post about AmyMay.

You are all tremendously kind, and your messages have really made a difference.

So as an update.

Amy is turned out with her mate who returned home yesterday triumphant from her win at Chepstow. She is the only horse Amy truly gets on with, and they went out this morning like Darby & Jo. The eventer flinging and bucking at her freedom - Amy just guzzling grass (what's new!).

My beautiful girl will be with me for a fortnight - and then be pts. Her legs are buggered, and at 18 I have to do what's best for her - not me.

So, she looks glorious in the field - if a little common next to her very smart companion

But is as happy as larry.

Life throws us a curved ball sometimes - when we least expect it. But friends (like all of you on here) and family help us get over it.

Thank you all once again for your kind thoughts, and I will take some photos of my lovely, naughty pony for us all to enjoy in the comming weeks.

Beccy xxx

You are doing whats best for your horse , and thats what matters , Cant say I have ever had to make that decision but I know if it came to it , I would do whats best .

I'm really sorry it has to end like this Beccy.
Have some lovely times with her this last fortnight and know you are doing the absolute best for her, however much it hurts you.

AM - you are being very strong. You have gone away and sat and thought about what is best for Amy. I understand how hard it is for you to let her go as I am havign to make the same decision with our old pony.
Life does seem to throw an awful amount of crap. Some people say it makes you stronger, im sure it does but it make you feel dreadful at the time.

Please do get us lots of piccies of the gorgeous girl - if shes anything like mine shell be looking like a hippo, all covered in mud!

Beccy I am so sorry, I've just seen your previous post

You are being very strong in this and absolutely devoted to your mare and her care. Big hugs

what a beautiful but sad story ,you have made me choked reading this,it reminds me of when forest went through a similar thing with her lovely horse and at the end of the day you know what a hard but right decision you are making.

sending you huge huge hugs

Oh you poor thing. I hope you and her spend a lovely two weeks together though. I'm sure you are the best owner she could ask for (IMHO from reading your posts anyway) and so huge ((hugs)) to you and Amy x

Got to say that I'm sitting here in tears. You are such a lovely lady to be doing what's best for Amymay, despite the fact that you must be hurting so much.

Take heart from all the messages you received, and cherish the time you have left with your girl

Thinking of you both

I'm so sorry to hear that but think you have made a very brave decision to do what is best for your beloved friend. I hope you have a wonderful two weeks together - savour every minute.

You will be in my thoughts Beccy - be strong and when its all over remember the good bits with the knowledge you have done right by her.

And later on post your piccies and I will shed a few tears with you too.

That post has made me go cold. I am so sorry things have turned out how they have, it is such a cruel blow. You are totally doing the right thing for Amy, but you must be in pieces. So very, very sorry. xxx

Im so sorry to hear this AM, but you know in your heart that you are making the right decision for her & that is all that matter.You are putting her first & she will thank you for it;

Thinking of you at this difficult time....

It is a truly gut wrenching decision to make but take some comfort in the fact that it is summer and she can enjoy being out with her friend. Thinking of you at this horrible time (x)

I am so sorry Beccy, you have made the right decision and put Amy first. Enjoy your 2 weeks with her, although it will be hard. Will be thinking of you.

But I've no doubt that you are doing what's best for her.

That's awful, poor you and poor AmyMay. She's lucky to have someone strong enough like you to make the right decision for her though. I hope you enjoy the last few days with her. My thoughts are with you.

I'm so so sorry Beccy.

I sincerely hope you are able to enjoy her over the next fortnight, and that she enjoys her time with her fancy friend. She is lucky to have someone as brave and as caring as you, very lucky.

I hope you can enjoy your last fortnight together, you're doing such a brave thing for your horse, difficult though it is. I'm sure when the pain starts to heal you'll have many happy memories of her.

What a horrible decision to have to make, but at least you know you are doing the best thing for her. I hope you manage both manage to enjoy the next two weeks.
