Well Hi everyone, I read all your posts with interest but rarely post myself so be nice!!
I am 24, work on a tb stud handling youngstock and breaking-in/ pre-training the 2 year olds. In my free time (at the moment lack of) I find horses to ride, school, break in, compete, ride up gallops .... just to try and earn some extra pennies to fund my competing. I have no help from parents, live on my own, work all hours god sends and try to keep 2 horses on DIY livery, I am so determined to be eventing properly I will do anything. Just for example I started work at 5am yesterday on the stud, moved on to ride out a racehorse, pulled manes then moved onto sheep sheds from 8-5, back to work at the stud, on to a youngster I have been backing at a local yard, onto my first horse who is being kept temporarily on one yard, then onto the next where my other is and also another youngster I am riding then back to the stud for late night checks and then fell into bed about 10pm .... to get up at 5.15 this morning, I am not trying to go on and on about my life, I love it but just trying to show I will do anything to achieve my dreams. I want to be producing youngsters for eventing and be competing.
Anyway the point is I have had a few more enquiries for breaking in horses - I try to go freelance to local yards as I can't really take horses in - and wondering whether I should create a website to give more information. I have looked around at a few and love shoestringeventing. Do you think I would attract sponsors to help me out or would I be being stupid, if so obviously a website would help. I haven't really evented too much yet, just done baby events, showjumping, xc etc on youngsters, but one of my horses is a 4 year old very well bred mare that I feel very priveledged that the owners have given me the ride on her so I am hoping she is the one to get me out there, it is also making me really motivated to be the best I can and do evetything I can for her to not let her or her owners down, she was graded elite at the BEF futurity evaluations and we are invited to an equine bridge assessment day later on in the year, all new to me but very excited.
Sorry this has turned into a bit of an essay but I would very much appreciate your opinions. Also if any of you have websites which sites did you use to create them and how much do you pay?
