This has been a big deal for me (oh for those nerveless days of yesteryore, ho hum).

Anyhoo, after donking the old bonce, two months ago or so I tried to canter Dizz on a hack with D1 and Friend. Came very close indeed to coming off, scared a chap innocently driving along (we did start quite a distance from the road!). Scared the wotsit out of me :(

Last week I managed to get m'bits together and have a wee canter (or four lol) when out on our own, today... went out with D1, Friend, and Friend's Daughter and we cantered! Okay, again not pretty, etc., and I couldn't keep my butt in the saddle, let's just say the Dizz was feeling rather bouncy and happy lol, but we did it and although she was a bit of a pr*t, I stayed on top, pretty much in control, and we stopped where and when I wanted to :D :D :D

Then I put Friend on Dizz and I chilled out on Big Cob, laughing my socks off listening to Friend's schooling session (necessary on the Dizz) all the way home :D :D :D :D. Now she knows why I'm so kn*ckered after a hack lol :D

Oh, and I jumped again yesterday :D. I wasn't well and let D1 jump her, but then I just had to have a go. Two jumps, second one was great :D. Managed not to throw up as well lol. Friend jumped her and you could have seen the grin from the moon (Friend is a much better rider than me). I have to say I was very chuffed with my ginger nut, she did so well and was obviously loving it. No matter what the stride coming in, she gave it her best shot, not a hint of a stop or a run out :D :D :D

Sorry. Will shut up now.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Well done! It's awful when you have a lack of confidence. I too was never bothered about anything when I was younger but it doesn't take much to give me a scare now.
Keep it up, I hope you continue to go from strength to strength.

Well done to you and Dizz, you're really on a roll at the moment. Did you post those pics of you jumping?

YAY well done!! Sounds like you two are getting better every week!!

I used to be scared of even trotting on a hack so i know how much of an achievment cantering , and in a group is!

Lol, the group consisted of Big Cob, who is a good lad (after years of hard work by Friend :D); Little Lady who is a star for such a youngster and with her young rider doing so damn well :D; D1 was on another friend's ex-racer, which made for interesting lol :D.

And out of all of those, it was the six year old Dutch Warmblood that was the biggest loon lol. Ah well, good jobs I loves her it is :D :D :D

(for those not in the know, I bounced on head and had a bleed on the brain, so my nerves aren't what they used to be - three days in hospital and the months of rehabilitation, brrrr :)).

whoo hoo

Just realised this means you've got no excuse not to join us on the HHo party round Foremark reservoir! :D

Have lots of lovely canter spots ready on the route and there are even some nice big banks if you fancy jumping off them!

Yes, sign me up for Foremark.... might bring some others with me :D :D :D

No, no Natinal Hunt 'till later in the year, got to get the summer jumping circuit out of the way first :D :D :D :D: D :D ROFLMAO

Ah, the teen head. Hm. I have one of those, unfortunately it's on my teenage daughter lol :D. Ah well, at least I can throw her on when I need to lol :D
