a week off an full feeds for eventing fit ponies results in aching bones for me after lunging today. they have been going out for a couple of hrs per day but owner does not like to reduce feeds.

previous to that i turned out a 15.2hh TB for a friend, she is known to be difficult has had no routine in the 8 months they have had her, has spent months in, had ulcers (treated), got turned out got left in blah blah blah so not surprising when she goes out she is in orbit (seriously) she also becomes very reactive and kicks at anything that moves (she is very sweet really)-she got me my arm is fine not a mark no tenderness but my shoulder is killing me.
spoke to O when she arrived found out horse is being fed alfa beet and an alfalfa based feed with eventing cubes :eek: on vets advice as she is under weight:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

and to cap it all those that are supposed to provide services on the yard (wont do this one:rolleyes:) laughed cos i had a hat, gloves and a whip when turning out

What a nightmare when owners won't reduce feed to match the work horses are in. Feel for you (and let them laugh, they will be laughing on the other side of their fcae (perhaps literally) if they don't do it with protection!

Sorry, what I mean is, it looks like your YO has made this situation what it is for you by not reducing feed etc.

Ah scary thing is though 2 separate yards and 2 separate owners, the second horse and owners are just a combination that are really not working-they are moving her to somewhere she can live out and be bought back into work, hopefully they will be succesful
