By nature I am quite an impatient person, but I have to say waiting for new signs from Hannah that she is actually thinking about foaling is driving me crazy. I can't think about anything else (or I just can't think in general due to sleep depravation) and I honestly now believe she has another week or so to go judging on people's photos of their mares when they had 2-3 days left!

In fact, I am actually starting to wonder whether she is still in foal at all, or whether she is just having me on!

Not a rant as such, more a delirious ramble

You'll get there poppet and it will all be worth it. Keep on posting it is great reading and we are all here holding our breath waiting for your post which states "Shes had it!!!" Come on Hannah you can do it. It only smarts a little!!!

Hang on in there! I can well remember Ibs posting much the same thoughts as she(and we

) waited for B to foal.
Hannah'll surprise you when you least expect it....and then it'll all be worth the wait

Hello. Been reading your posts with anticipation. You must be sooooo knackered. Hang in there it will all be well worth the wait. Can't wait to see pics of mummy and baby. Good luck x

Oh Becki this is the hardest part, hang in there you and hannah will be just fine.

There is just no telling when this foal will arrive each mare and also each pregnancy is so different and gives different signs.

Foal will arrive when you least expect it and aren't really ready its sods law. Bet you go up to see her this afternoon with 2 heads over the door!!!

Fingers crossed for you, have just made a pot of coffee - want one?

Oh honey, I felt exactly thew same way. It's so frustrating, i like you, am an impatient person also, but you do just want it over with by now. Not only so you can finally meet the little one but to make sure everything goes ok.

I remember I gave myself little targets round the yard of things I'd like to get done beofre baby came. Ie, I want to clean all my tack before it comes, I want to tidy my tack room. I then got into the mind set of 'i could just do with a couple more days'. Dont know if this might help?

I wish I was closer as I'd come and camp out with you. Pm or call if you ever need a chat, I know exactly how you feel xxxx

Hmmm... I am beginning to think she is just going to explode instead!!!

She is so huge in her belly that I just can't believe that it is not ready to come out yet

I know she has completely had enough, but it is actually the foal decides what day and the mare what time (I think that's right anyway).

We seem to have come to an almighty stand still

Trying to stay really positive and upbeat, but I have to admit I am starting to find it very hard at the moment. I think that is probably because I am a bit tired too, but I am so emotional at the moment that I feel like I am losing my mind.

Thanks... really appreciate that!

It's hard because my family are not horsey at all and don't really understand. My husband, bless him, is trying his best to come to terms with how I am feeling, but it is so strange that I just cannot describe it.

I keep bursting into tears at the strangest of things, and feel so fed up for Hannah too not just myself (although I am very stressed out about it). I just never imagined it would affect me the way it has done.

Stay at home tonight, have some wine and sleep in your own bed - take the pressure off you, after all the foal will come when it is ready and there isn't anything you can do to alter that!

I know but I wouldn't forgive myself if she did have it tonight and I wasn't there... even though I honestly don't think she will do. I just keep thinking that if there was a complication and I didn't know about it

I can only imagine what it is like at the moment, but to me its seemed ages that my mares have been in-foal.
Believe me the little foalie will soon be here. I also know what its like waiting for a pregnant animal to give birth and its VERY annoying.

Are you sneakily doing the "I don't think it'll arrive for another week" in order that foalie will prove you wrong?!
grin.gif

Her tum certainly looks poppable to me - LOL at her exploding - little foal arrives aliens style! (not really, that would be awful

)

I think we have no doubt it will be a March one...

Off to the yard to muck out etc. then come home for some tea. Will update when I come back as not seen her since this morning (think I am falling out with her fo making me so tired

)

Little Mare - I like your logic! But unfortuantely no, I genuinely think it needs more time to cook!

Alien style foalie made me laugh too... tolf you I was delirious at the moment.

If she has it tomorrow it will be born on Senza's birthday

Come on Hannah PUUUSSSHHHHH!!!!!

I'm sure she wont keep you waiting much longer though and just think about how exciting it will be to meet little Hannah and not how frustrating it is.

I think JosieJo's idea was good as well in keeping yourself busy and your mind occupied

I agree with Josiejo. Find yourself lots of things to do to occupy yourself... Try to rest yourself as much as possible, though I totally understand why you want to keep an eye on her at all times! I know I would be the same!

Chin up, and just keep thinking of how amazing it will be when there are two faces looking at you out of her stable!

Don't worry! Relax with your wine tonight. Couldn't hubby come upto the caravan and stay tonight; might take your mind off things for a bit - he even might take over guard duties for a while and enjoy being included even if he's not horsey minded so that you can get some decent kip for more than an hour at a time?!
Cheer up, it does end and it shouldn't be that long now; remember Josie last year, that seemed to go on forever as did B and Hector; this'll be a breeze cos she's already got the T shirt if I remember rightly!

I'm sure she won't keep you waiting much longer. And we're all going through it with you here on the forum! More years ago than I care to admit to I had a mare due to foal, and slept in the next stable for several nights. Then in the early hours of the morning, when she was quite calm and eating hay, I popped into the house to make a cup of coffee, and, you've guessed it, came back out to a little filly foal! I agree Ii you could persuade your OH to join you in the caravan tonight it might allow you to have a bit more sleep. Loads of luck.

I have a friend who is staying with me tonight...

Her udders are huge and she now has a massive swelling in front of them too. Her bottom is still saggy and she seemed a bit restless tonight when I left. Also, someone who has not seen her this week cannot believe how much her belly has dropped in just a few days.

I am going back at 10pm to start tonight's vigil.

Your friend has udders!!! sorry thats what i read!!

Hope you have a good night and it is soon. I just got back from being in London for the day first thing i did ...check if Hannah has had her foalie!
