I know it's weird posting a picture of me kissing a pony but it's huge progress considering on day 1 she wouldn't let me near her!!!

(Figured you horsey folk would understand) ;)

oh bless ! glad your'e making progress, its a slow but very rewarding process, i had a completely untouched 6 month old mini shetland foal years ago who was about as feral as they come. we used to have to round him up to get into a stable and only then with some considerable patience would he come anywhere near you. it took time and lots and lots of gentle touching/rubbing but eventually he came round. he turned out to be the most amazing lovable ponies i have ever known. sadly lost him at 12 years old to cushings and laminitus - but he had an amazing short life, was adored by sooooo many people had huge success showing at county and above and made the most amazing driving /childs riding pony.

time and patience will pay dividends in the end, keep the updates comming - look forward to seeing her progress :)

Thank you everyone. Yesterday I felt quite disheartened as she wasn't really interested but today she picked up! I also got to touch her muzzle and play with the noseband on her headcollar and she rubbed up against me too! Very very proud<3

My horse still wont let me do that, occasionally I try and hold him still to force him to accept cuddles but he's really not keen.... Must try harder ;)

My comment really was true, I've been head butted many a time attempting to have one of those sweet moments other people have with their horses. I have now taken to draping myself around his neck, he can't stop me from doing that ;) funniest bit is I'm not even joking!! You've made me want a wild pony to tame!

I'm a newbie and a novice, but common sense tells me that there will be days when she is interested and days when you feel
She isn't connecting with you...that's the journey...magical isn't it?? You are doing brilliantly ... Don't ever get disheartened...you will both be a brilliant team... As all the experienced people will tell u.. It just takes time. Love your posts by the way.

Thank you so much!
I honestly thought she was going back into her shell the other day but for her to come on in leaps and bounds, kissing and licking my knuckles, I just wanted to cry with happiness!! :D
You're absolutely lovely, thank you<3

B1 hates physical contact from strangers but I used to bribe her, I'd reward a muzzle kiss with a treat. She now happily marches up to me and plants her muzzle on my face when she wants a treat!
