I actually just feel like giving up with xc atm!
He was jumping fabulously until we had a problem with a skinny brush fence on top of a bank, took us 5 attempts to get over. Then everything is all good again until we get to a combination with a large log pile to a skinny on a curve then another skinny but they were both not that skinny. Jumps the first part lovely but problems at skinnies, 3 attempts to get over them.
Then comes the trakhnner. We didn't get over that one at all. Looks like Andy is scared of ditches. Then some shark teeth and he stops drops his shoulder and spins. I go smack into the hedge (glad I had my airjacket on.) Got him over it eventually. The problem is when he stops they are very sharp and very hard to sit to which I think is making me overly cautious with him which then makes him stop. It's like a viscous circle.
I'm just feeling really defeated atm. So much for doing BE and PC teams in the summer.
So we have decided to bring him right down in height, but the problem we have is there isn't many course with skinny technical fences at a smaller size and he is jumping the simple bigger fence absolutly lovely.
Sorry for a bit of a moan I just feel like nothing is going right. I can't get rid of this 4 faultitis and his dressage is getting worse and now my xc is just dreadful! I just feel like I'm having all these lessons and training sessions but I'm still an awful rider.

CC as always please but please be nice as feeling a bit down about it all and nursing a banging headache.
