some of you may be interested to know i had a fall today on my new mare haha.
THE STORY:
i decided to take Missy for a good gallop on the stubble fields to see her reactions and to see what she would do. so off we went and she was an angel. i mean i let her go as fast as she wanted and i just had to sit up for her to come back to a lovely collected canter. what a star!! so me being pleased i walked back home on a long rein to bump into my nan + grandad. ''let us see you jump then dear!'' said nan.
''sure'' i replied but in my head i thought. ''great'' i didnt feel like 'showing' them her jump at all! they can be quite judgemental when they want to be!!
anyhow, off we went to jump. now i dont know if i told any of you on here but her fitness has improved so the jumps have gone up. the last time i jumped, she was hopping over 1m so those were still up. i told nan to put them to crosses to warm up which she did and blah blah blah Missy was an angel doing everything right so we put them back up to a meter. now in my head i thought, shes done enough today so ill pop her over one so they can see and take her in. well! i took her over one and she was fine but nan was like ''well done love, lets see it again!''

i thought. but needless to say i turned around and prepared to jump it again. now i dont know what got in to Missy's head but whilst cantering towards this relatively small spread i felt her canter get big in the last 2 strides so i sat deep and waited. i dont know how big she jumped that thing but she jumped HUGE and she had never done this before. she always jumps smoothly but this, this was something else! so i landed on her neck which Missy wasn't best pleased about, so she took off towards a fence with me now dangling about underneath her. she skidded to a halt and i ended up under her nose looking at her laughing at me. my nan made a huge fuss which i hate. so i got back on and we done it again and she was fine. i think she just wanted to show us all what she could do.
silly mare. she does make me laugh. so that's my first fall on her! there will be many more to come. fantastic!!
