Just typed this and then it disappeared ! Grrr.

Went to a local PC HT today just to do the 3ft as our first event since his injury. Havent actually jumped for a long long time either!

Got there a bit late as there were not as many entries as I was expecting so had to dash round the xc course which knackered me out before I even started in the heat!

Had a few problems with steering last year as he has been pulling down and leaning on me so went back to basics with a fulmer french link. i warmed up with a light contact and concentrated on turning him off my legs and leaving his head alone.

Had a nice steady round - was not very big or technical but is what we both needed. Went clear :)

Turns out we actually won as it was only 400mpm (think this is our kinda pace :p) and i was 2 seconds over the time so was really pleased with that. Control wise was better than before but only time and practise will tell how things go really!

Sorry not very exciting and no pics either.

Vickyjay & Tinkerbell88- Thank you. It is definatly a good start - just got to stay that way :p

How can you say 'not very exciting' - it's very exciting (and clever) to win anything and PC HTs are more than a little competitive from what I've seen. Well done :-)

Millbrooksong- Thanks. I hope he does to - he had a bit of any injury prone streak!

Rosiefan- Thank you. I think it was luck more than anything as was really wanting to use it as a schooling round but as the time was fairly slow it worked to our advantage!

Milz88 - thanks - hopefully there will be mroe to follow :) well done at Solihull too :)

Hattikins - Not sure where next tbh. Not going to do any BE for a while.

KatB - Thank you :) He certainly enjoyed himself today.

AutumnRose- :) thank you. Your doing well with your boy too :)

Very exciting for you anyway. Well done you and Digby!!!

Will expect pics the next time though.

Did you manage to get hold of some hock boots for him.

Fiona

Hi Fiona,

Thank you :D Yes i bought some Halfstep recommended. Have tried them on and they look a secure fit but not actually tried them out as he has been turned out 24/7 since he injured his hock. Will have to try them out next winter (seems like a long way away atm but im sure, as ever, it will creep up on us fast)
