Hey guys!

Happy Tuesday!

I had the funnest morning - I found a friend to go walking with and Prince loves her horse. We went ambling along the lanes and it was so relaxing! Prince was sniffing away at things and it was the loveliest morning! Sorry to be such a pest with all these updates - just wanted to share my happiness ????

Hope you’re all well xx

Lovely photo, and great update ?

Do make sure that when you’re walking him on the road you‘re between him and the traffic x
Ahh yes good point!!!! I must remember that. I always seem to creep to the wrong side for some reason! Will remember this for tomorrow ? xx

Lovey, lovely photo.

I am walking the lanes with mine too at the moment. A wonderful, confidence and partnership building time, as well as being simply joyful in itself.
It’s such fun isn’t it! I look forward to it every day. My non horsey friends go off for coffee and to get their hair done - I go to the yard and get covered in hay and slobber - wouldn’t change it for the world ?

We do alternate days. One day it is 10 minutes ridden on the arena. the next is 10 minutes in-hand on the road. I find them both amazing!

I am walking the lanes too, well once a day, for only 20 minutes. then 20 mins round the yard pm.

It really sucks when you have no riding 4 years while mare on box rest, then boy does tendon and cannot be ridden 3 years, then you get to ride 2 years on your new mare, then your back on box rest with new mare with collateral ligament damage and navicular, and just when you think life can't throw you any more sh1t, you mare does check ligament and you have been without a car 4 weeks as you car dies. :(

You will get used to being scruffy. A few days ago a lady in the shop kept looking at me. I wondered if I maybe knew her and was trying to figure it out, but finally I realised that she was just looking at the huge patch on my fleece where sore tooth pony had covered me in 'soup' (beet pulp and grass cubes), and probably also at the hay in my hair!

This is not as bad as another lady from the stable who was waiting for someone in the entrance of a shop and overheard a staff member saying 'there's a homeless person hanging around in the entrance again, can we give her something to eat?'

Really lovely to see. I am walking the lanes too at the moment. My OH takes the old boy and I take baby and we go off for adventures in the forest. It has worked wonders for little Robins manners and has stopped B wanting to snack on a small pony while waiting for his breakfast :p.

Keep the happy updates coming - its so nice to see you enjoying your horse after your rocky beginning's with him.

We quite enjoy family walkies too! The dog and the pony think they are the same, and it's quite comical to see them both sniffing and investigating things together!
