A Grade C showjumper!!! I knew someone had to of jumped him on a bigger scale at some point in his life as he LOVES it!! The info was submitted by the BSJA on the National Equine Database, cost me £4 to find out which is a very small price to pay seeing as I'm desperate to find out more about my boy. :)

Sorry to be a killjoy - all horses start off at grade C when registered. You could register your 35 year old 3 legged donkey and they would be grade C. But congrats on finding out he has winnings - that bodes well :)

You beat me to it!

I must look like a right wally, I don't know much about the compeating world as I've always been a happy hacker and fun ride person! I did however compete in the Royal Navy Champs last year and came 4th in the jumping and 6th in the prelim dressage and thats about as far as it goes!!!

I've been telling lots of my horsey pals about my find and they must of been too nice to tell me that everything starts at grade c! Oh dear!! I'm still chuffed though, and £35 winnings probably bought his owner back then a nice bottle of bubbly hehe!! ;)

I wouldnt worry cos i must be a numpty too i read your post and thought "wow" i know nothing about competing so obviously i am easily impressed!:D:D

Even the fact that someone thought he was worth registering is good, and he won a few quid even better. But the best thing is that you are happy with him!:)

Hey don't knock yourself! Your boy must have shown promise as a jumper else his previous owners wouldn't have gone to the trouble and expense of registering him with BSJA (it's not all that cheap!) and plus, he's won some winnings. Heck, I'd not be too disappointed to discover that about a new horse :)

I've had him nearly 2 years now and he is 19, and all I had found out is that people had deemed him as a dangerous maniac, and was shut away from the rest of the yard he used to be at. His last owner sold him to me very cheap as she had lost her nerve with him. He is just a typical bouncy warmblood, pulls grumpy faces at people he doesnt want to "talk" to but thats it. We have such a bond and he is a bit of a Mummies boy! So after hearing nothing but bad stuff and me feeling sorry for him and wishing I had found him sooner, it was lovely to find out something possitive (spelling?!) at last!

Plenty left in the tank then! My sisters horse (now 20) last BSJA membership ran out this year, so there are 19 year old horses out there competing at it, just in case you were considering joining ;)
