It's my birthday tomorrow and I jokingly told my best friend and my husband if they both loved me, like they say they do, they will buy me a pony for my birthday! (about a mth ago) OMG they made all sorts of excuses over the last mth as where they were........... and today and turned up outside my house with the most perfect pony EVER! Freddie now has a friend :-) I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky!!!!!!!!!!

The daft sods ended up buying a thin pony who has done nothing for the last 2 yrs other than have babies and stand in a stable, how they managed to find a thin cob is a miracle....... Trust them to feel sorry for it, but her temperent is wonderful, she needs TLC and feeding well, and most of all turnout and she will be wonderful in a month or so! Will upload photos!

Thankyou! Waits for Shysmum to be smitten!
She is the lady in the blue rug, Freddie my 2 yr old in the spotty rug can't believe his luck to have a new friend, he is so happy :-)

I'm so glad she has a good home and a new friend. Looking at her photo, she has a special look about her, wise and knowing. You and young Freddie are very lucky, she's lovely.

Awww she is only 6 herself, broken to drive and ride... bought 2 yrs ago with a foal at foot and already pregnant again, sadly she lost the 2nd foal. The people who they bought her off of had no money and did the right thing in giving her up, her condition is pretty poor tho, will post a photo, it's hard to show you how slim she is as shes so hairy, she has been so laid back today, like she has lived with us forever, it's amazing.

She is STUNNING !!!! She has a very wise look about her - I bet she won't take any cheek of Freddie, I can just see her now telling him what's what - and he will ADORE her for it. What's her name ?

You know, when I get my own place in the not too distant future () there will be several rescue cobs floating around ; horsey people who haven't been around these guys just don't understand their gentleness and their kindness.

EDIT - S*** just seen the piccie of her without her rug !!!!!! OMG. Please keep us posted with lots of updates. poor, poor girlie. It was being an Inspector that led me to love this type so much.

I love my husband and friend even more for taking pity on her! Wow are your own place!! I will come visit, uninvited!!!! lol XX

Now she is lovely!!!!

Bit of time, feed and worming down her neck...you will have one very nice looking mare in 6 months!

Fantastic. happy birthday
I have bought my daughter a new pony for birthday and xmas. She is a very lighweight coloured cob. We got her home xmas eve then my daughter ended up in hospital xmas day sp we havent done much with her. I took a photo the first day as her ribs were sticking out let alone her hip bones. A while later we are getting some weight on her and she looks so much better already but still wont be seen out in public yet .
Good luck I will try and post photos at some stage

Good grub and some love and decent bath when warm and she will soon fill out. My girlie I think has had two foals too and it took everything from her. Brought her at 14 hh and now 15.1!

Found ready mash extra was fab as she could not eat too quick and colic a balancer also really helped and as suggested decent worming. Happy Birthday by the way. Agree she is a real poppet !

You lucky lady .

What a pretty face she has , sweet and kind and a kind eye. Freddie would be a fool if he doesn't fall hoof over shoes for her.

Post more pics when she has settled a bit more, though she looks settled now.

I have my own place , but un fortunately hubby wont let me have a few rescues here .:(

We have ordered a hot horse shower, she is going to be pampered :-) Is there anything we can do for her with regards being in foal etc...... or will good nutrition just do the trick X edit as seen your edit now lol

Having a baby around her will definitely lift her spirits ;):D

She has already told Freddie he is bottom of the heap, but he's used to this, he has 3 mares to live with now, the poor soul! Although they are all grumpy with him, but secretly love him.

You lucky lady .

She has been so relaxed and hasn't hooned around at all, although she may not feel like it, shes very polite tho. She is apparently broken to ride and drive, but we shall treat her as having done nothing at all, the saddle she came with is suitable for a TB  So we shall sort her a saddle when she is up to weight X

I have linked my friend who bought her for me to this page, as I know she is about to read this thread.. I would like to publically say!

You are a very special person, and I will never be able to thank you enough for buying little Foxy.... Love you!!

hahaha, it's taken five months for my Old Blind Terrier to accept Percy Lab Pup, and he has the torn ears to prove it  Suddenly they are cuddling up thick as thieves.

Freddie will love this new lady in no time at all, and I know Shy accepts being put in his place when he gets too cheeky..he's in with a 15 year old TB mare who keeps him on his toes !

Lucky you and Happy Birthday! As others have said, she'll be stunning in a few months with a good diet and lots of TLC. She'd be a great match with my friends coloured mare, also in poor condition at purchase last summer, but now looking super and sweet nature too, so send her to me if you lose interest :p Best wishes!
