Some of you may remember over 3 years ago I was getting on Gyp outside his summer field and he took off and dumped me in the road on my back. I have had serious problems with my back every since. It has taken me a long time to trust him enough to get on by my self.
To start with someone used to have to hold him, then we progressed to just standing by him, then just being on the yard and the past 6 months or so, I can get on him with no one else on the yard and take him into the fields behind. But I have never tried to get on outside the yard gates (winter field).
But today we managed it. He stood like a lamb while I got on sorted my stirrups/girth/whips/reins etc and walked off quietly when asked. So so proud of him.
Now I just need to get myself to get on outside the summer field, they are moving there next weekend.
Probably doesn't sound much to you guys but is a big step up for us.
