SO naughty! I've been away for 4 weeks, first time back on today
he's most def not (normally!) a horse who is any different after a break. He's put weight on but wanted to see where he is fitness-wise...oh he's fit. Had a lovely hack, came to a massive canter field, he suggested a canter so I said yes of course, got absolutely, totally and utterly flat-out run away with to the top. It's a BIG, long hill and I had to ride him into a TREE to stop cos there's a 5 bar gate at the end and he would have just sailed over that.
WHAT is that all about?! He hasn't done anything that naughty for years! He wasn't wired, we had a beautifully quiet and sensible hack before and after the "episode"!
Can't believe I didn't lose the contents of my pockets, they were full as I was planning a STEADY first hack back, not oodles of excitement thanks very much! And as for my poor little dog, took him a while to catch us up at the top!
Least I know he's fit, he was barely even blowing! And boy did I make him work every single stride of the way home
Was I being taught a lesson for daring to go away?! He was keen to go out, put his own bridle on virtually. He loves his work
