and it was grand and brill and lovely :D :D :D

I was so sick of being ill and not getting anywhere that I thought oh s*d it and booked our lovely instructor for half an hour :D

Okay, so it was only walk and trot and to say it was basic is possibly an understatement, but I loved it :D :D :D. Lungs held out (just), and instructor was very pleased with the Dizz and with me :D

Instructor did make me laugh - Dizz and I are going to Eland for a hoss camp in August... I've spoken to them and explained what level we're at, which they're fine with :D. My instructor however thinks that it would be nice if we were able to have a bit of a go at some of the jumping and the xc course.... :D. We've got roughly thirteen weeks... :D :D :D

Great idea to book a lesson and I'm glad it went well. It's amazing how helpful it can be, especially when you've got an instructor you really like. 13 weeks? Hmmmmmmmm..... plenty of time! x

Ho ho ho... :D :D :D

I'll let you know how it goes - bearing in mind that my jumping leaves a lot to be desired and I've only jumped Dizz over a six inch cross pole (twice) and a stream (by mistake, once - the next time we went through backwards, at speed, into a hedge). Dizz starts jumping at about three feet, whereas I'm more y'three inches kinda gal :D :D :D

I can understand that thought process :D The first time I deliberately jumped the current Appy was in the ring at a local show, entering the Riding Club Horse class (we had jumped a ditch 'by accident' before that). I had forgotten that there was a jump in that class, I was so concerned not to let her refuse the jump that I pushed much too hard and jumped a 1' jump at about 3'! I lost all breaks and steering and nearly ploughed into the line up, so I can recomend practice first!

Lol YG - I'd planned on not doing any jumping at all :D. I think I've got so into the mindset of 'we can't do it, she'll be lame/I'm not good enough' etc. etc., that it's so weird to be thinking positive for a change :D :D :D

Gawd, not even thinking of the control issue afterwards! Well done for staying on :D

Mrs M the only thing that kept me in the plate was the thought of how embarassing it would be to fall off in front of all those people! (Plus how ouchie the ground would be) :D We have got better at the stopping and turning, haven't had to skittle other people for ages :D

Well done. Thats fantastic news. You definitely deserve a break so hopefully this is the start of good things for you both.

Look forward to being part of your official cheer squad when Dizz is going round the Eland XC!

Ta DWI :D. Lol, if the Dizz and I get there I think it will be a national holiday :D :D :D

B, and FB - so long as I am flying on Dizz's back rofl

HW - yup, lessons are grand :D. Even better when m'hoss is sound enough to have one on lol :D

C - hm. BSJA. Do they start at three inches??? :D :D :D

I will see you there for our pairs round. However I will not give any sympathy for you laughing so much at me and Milo that you fall off.
Badders pics from The Quarry coming your way tomorrow

Pairs it is :D :D. Will have to get my own Point Two just in case (nothing to do with falling off laughing at you - honest lol :D).

Yay for pics :D. I wanted to pack the car up and get down there, but after the lesson today I was a heap :(. No chance I could spend even part of the day walking around. Ah well. Had a lesson, got two rooms painted, and will be out and about tomorrow, then back home to chill :D

Yay! Sounds like things are finally looking up for you! :)

I'm going to a grown-up pony camp in just 2 weeks, and we're supposed to be jumping there! If the Spooky Pony and I can do it, you can too!

Thankies thankies thankies all :D :D :D

If you knew how bad my jumping is... Poor Big Cob actually gets himself prepared and waits for me on the other side of the jump lol. He's a good and kind lad :D. I have the feeling Dizz will not be quite so accomodating lol :D

Doesn't matter how bad it was hells bells I used to catch Pidge in the mouth landing after a fence and used to poo myself if they were 2'3"
Now take today for example had a jump lesson and happily popped 3' stride 3'3" oxer never giving it a second thought and my position has improved no end. Takes a lot of hard work and perserverance but if you want to to do it then you will do it :D

Lol P, can't imagine you ever being like that :D

In my case I have two problems:

1. I have developed jumpers Tourettes - it's bad! :o

2. I'm as far away from the saddle as the stirrup leathers will allow!!

I seem to be incapable of keeping my knees even vaguely where they should be (or even touchign the saddle!).

Oh yes two years ago I still panicked about jumping a 2'3" course of SJ
In that case your instructor will help tremendously as that is what I did to get help, good experienced friend gave some advice and had some lessons SJ and XC :D
As for staying away from the saddle, knees etc you know the cure for that one don't you......

jumping with no stirrups :p:rolleyes::D

Pidge slinks off grinning wickedly.................:D

:D you'll be one up on me if you jump with no stirrups, there is no way on earth you'll ever get me jumping Pidge with no stirrups, well not intentionally anyway :p:D

I used to make D1 jump without a saddle :D Bad mummy lol
