Just been for a hack out on Katie, the route i took takes me through 5 gates Arghhhhh! But hey ho practice makes perfect right? Went through the first 2 really well then its quite a bit of road work until i turned off the road back onto bridlepath. Someone had stuck an A4 poster onto the gate post of the 3rd gate it was in a plastic cover which was flapping and it was positioned exactly where i needed to get Katies head so i could do the chain on the gate, we went backwards, forwards, sidewards etc i couldnt get hold of the chain she wouldnt go near the poster!!
There is a lone house opposite and i heard someone call to me did i need an extra hand!! Bless this guy he came out of his house to open the gate for me, we got through no problem, I thanked him lots!! and we caried on our way through the next gate and she was a star, then into the little woods and we had a Turbo cob moment

If you can work out the address of the house I'd send a little thank you note - it's a nice gesture and from a mercenary point of view and it might mean he'll come and do it again for you!!!

There are some very considerate people out there.

I went for a hack today, was going through this lane and came across a car, I was at a t junction so stopped and waited for car, as car got near really slowed and asked if it was ok to pass, young man driving, I said it was and young man said thank you and nice horse you have there, mad my day.

There are a few out there. When I was sharing a couple of years ago I went on an extra long hack and we had to cross a level crossing. Normally bombproof horse wouldn't go over, and a man came out of a house and lead the horse across with me riding.

Bless!
