I dont use ebay very often i have sold 3 things a lorry a rug and a saddle i have bought 15 things all horse related anyway on monday i went on there to leave feedback for some boots i got and it said you have to leave feedback for 108 items WTF so i looked in my selling bit and there were 108 beauty trolleys at 17.99 that i had supposedly sold to 108 different people so i contacted ebay as i was very upset they confirmed that my account had been fraudulantly used on another IP address in a another country and that a different pay pal account had been set up and the money sent there and that they would sort it out... anyway 7 phonecalls later including the one tonight where i was so angry they still havnt sorted it out and i have numerous people emailing me i have emailed most of them and most have been very understanding but 1 woman has threatened me ect i have asked ebay to speak to her oh and ebay gave my phone number to a woman on tuesday she was actually very nice but i can not believe this has happened its also makeing me very bloody british in the sense i am blaming all "bloody foreigners"now i am hoping it sorts its self out but i am so very angry

ebay gave your phone number out?

thats really not on. Id make a serious complaint about that.

Im sorry to hear youre having trouble.

IIRC Ebay can give out the registered contact details to the two parties involved in a transaction...

Obviously, in this situation, the OP hasn't done anything wrong - but if I'd paid and not received the item or any response to emails; requesting the contact details of the seller is perfectly reasonable IMO...

If a buyer requests the contact information, their own information is also forwarded to the seller and vice versa...

Hope you get things sorted soon Cassie...

:)

Like all else in life I think it depends on the mood of the person handling the complaint. I recently bought a Belling stove and never received it. I contacted ebay and, to be fair, they were brilliant, the seller was given every chance to respond either to me or to them but she wouldn't even provide a tracking number so I had a full refund. There again, I doubt she is as happy with the service received as I was!

That's just terrible!! I have seen a couple of ebay accounts though that are selling trailers, emailed them and it sounds all so fraudulent.. often I have found they ask you to send an email with your question to another email address.
You then look at their feedback, they have a few hundred, and there is absolutely nothing horse related.. just rings alarm bells to me, if you were a ebay user and also had horses there would be something there surely?

I've not had much trouble selling other than the issue of international postage and someone bidding then not wanting to pay..

Sometime ago I had a car listed for sale on my Ebay account. I had no knowledge of the car so I contacted Ebay & they removed the listing & I had no more problem.

When I've bought & the item has been wrongly described I've always got my money back, again without any problem.

People don't seem to realise that Ebay is a vast worldwide company with a turnover that would rival the budget for many countries so there will be occasions when things do go wrong or things aren't rectified as quickly as you may like. As I have said all the issues I've had have been resolved you just need a little patience.

I use ebay to sell as a business seller, I haven't had any problems so far but am under no illusion as a seller ebay would not be on my side, I therefore only sell my own saddlery products on there and only low values so if any buyers try it on and some do, then I won't lose as much as say selling a saddle.
Aternative to ebay but unfortunately not nearly as well known or as large is ebid.co.uk and their own version of paypal which is pppay.com.
I have items on ebid and a pppal.com account but for the life of me can't work out how to use the pppal account!
Here's a review on the most used sites to sell on, it's in US Dollars but you can still work out who's the cheapest
