Heven't ridden in three weeks, horse came home yesterday, 4 shoes, gleaming. Put him out this morning as expected to be lambing all day. Came home at lunchtime, just been out to go for a hack and see where we're at. Horse has only 3 shoes! Bah, and he's not even the sort you could work in the sandschool...
So fingers crossed farrier will nip up and nail a shoe on.

Been there had this.

Bringing on a slightly green six year old, getting him out on his own very nicely and he lost a shoe

The farrier came along a few days later, but it still put us back a bit.

My OH's mare lost a brand new shoe, which we could not find anywhere. Had a new shoe put on and a week or so later the lost shoe turned up in the middle of the field! Now how the heck did they do that?

Think its because they went out (haven't seen each other in a few months as he lives elsewhere whilst I'm at uni) and hoolied in a muddy field, I never thought grrr.
We tried a boot at one point for poulticing...he broke it in 48hrs.
 
omg i know how you feel, we are currently lambing at the moment so every thing makes way for the blasted sheep, god i hate sheep argh! any way, so i have no time to ride and my TB used to loose his shoes everytime he went out as typically he would gallop around with all the other horses looking with raised eyebrows and hed come in with 2-3 shoes!! but all my horses are better now that they are on PRO HOOF and it realy gives them a good conditioned glossy coat!:):)
 
Oh I hear you, brought one in today hoping for a nice hack but oh no-only three shoes too! Grr. worked him in the school instead and will for the next week before farrier comes out. Still haven't found it in the field though so must have another look tomorrow. The joys of horses eh!
