i hate it - it really limits me when looking for horses to part loan :(
there have been so many perfect horses i've had to pass by because they are just a bit too far by bus/walking for me, whereas if i had a car i could be at the yard in 10mins.

i can learn to drive as i'm 17, but it will be at least 5 months until i pass my test if i start learning, by which point i hope to already be loaning a horse, though it doesn't seem like it's going to happen :/ everytime i get contacted about a horse, i check to see how far away/how i could get there and everywhere is just out of reach .. taking like at least an hour to get there by bus.

why can't i just live next to a livery yard. it would make life so much easier.

Maybe if you limit the amount of days per week you can part loan or share, someone could give you a lift? Any driving friends or relatives willing to help you out?

I couldn't live without my car!

If you're that desperate to drive, can you go on one of those 5 day courses? I did one to pass my motorbike test (tho I think it was 3 days) - might be a more expensive option though.

Have you no friends or family who could give you lifts sometimes, maybe paying them for the fuel?
At 17, owning a car and a horse - even part loan - can be an expensive shock to the Bank Balance:cool:
