I have a big decision to make today

I agree with everyone else!

After H did so well last summer, a few people asked me if I regretted having him cut and tbh, no I don't. He's a happier horse for it and he was git when he was still entire! He didn't loose any of his pressence and won a County show 3 months after he had 'em off!
 
I thought one of the reasons that PS was up for sale was his inconsistancy due to temperment. Everyone on here has covered the reasons for gelding Troy, so no need to add anything but a futher agreement to gelding him.
 
a had to get mine gelded at ten months he nearly tried to mount me , he was demented he was a wreck and seemed traumatised , so made a decision and got him done ,best decision eva turned out to be a wee smasher and everyone likes him now [before no one would go within a mile radius] youl know ur self good luck.
 
Such a shame you have to decide now - my colt who is ISH is 3yo and still out with Geldings - he has a great line on both sides with his great grandad being a very famous ID stallion !!!

So glad i can wait untill later on to make my decision x
 
Well I guess I was lucky with my colt, he's 3 and is still a star to handle. I wanted to keep his breeding as he has cor de la breyere and dallas early in his pedigree, so I covered my TB mare by Handsome Sailor with him, hopefully it will be a filly and even if/when I cut him i'll keep the line, if not it should be an excellent event prospect, and he'll also be old enough to freeze some semen should I choose to use it again myself. I asked for advice and most people said cut, perhaps they were right, time will tell, but I decided to wait as I had the time, facilities and he was horizontal he's that laid back.

If he's not bothered by being seperated and you do desperately want to keep him entire and will put the work in, then give it a go, if you are not 110% sure it's what you want, esp with him being a randy git (my colts only just started having to go out alone) then I'd cut him, for the resons already mentioned.
