I'm pretty strict with mine, they do not get fed from the hand to stop them getting snappy, BUT I do dote on the silly sods and talk to them like people, and give them lots of hugs and kisses :o

They will get a slap if needed though :p (That's a lie, Len would very, very rarely get a slap, as it would send him into orbit, silly jumpy fella)

We have to get a club for all us soppy owners! :p

Isn't it nice to know than even though you give your horse cuddles and the odd polo/treat that they can still be well mannered horses. Mine never forget their manners despite being treated like this.

Goes to show you can have a happy medium. :D
 
I hug mine too,they like it,and hand rub [massage] their coats too. one of my yearlings nickers and puts his head on my shoulder. I love him.
