This is Faye my summer project, she's a 4 year old, 13hh Fell pony. Her regsitered name is Underwoods Greenbay.

No she's definitely a fell, lots of the brown fell ponies have a brown muzzle and a star is acceptable. As for the round barrel I'm sure that will tone down when she starts working :)

A lovely type! You'll have fun doing him!

I too am not an expert in the fell breed and also thought they were only black!!! But having googled the breed page I was surprised that black, brown, bay AND GREY (the latter surprised me the most!) are allowed! I never knew fells came in grey!! Well you learn a new thing everyday!

The amount of feathering can vary, I have a brown fell mare who has very little feathering, in summer even less; but she is definitely a full blown registered fell mare by Heltondale Black Prince III out of Robbswater Ripple. We also have a black fell gelding who has much more feather. The only stipulation is that feathers should be fine and silky.

From the Fell Pony Society:- MANE, TAIL AND FEATHER: Plenty of fine hair at heels (coarse hair objectionable), all the fine hair except that at point of heel may be cast in summer. Mane and tail are left to grow long. :)

The Underwoods prefix is quite well known & as far as im aware they do only breed fell ponies (apart from the only Newforest they had who also took their prefix, Underwoods Forest Breeze), friends of mine had the stallion Underwoods Icarus & he was lovely. Good luck with your pony, shes lovely!

She's actually got some really good bloodlines (Her sire is Greenholme Tony who is also bay) and she's fully regsitered with the Fell Pony Society.

It's a shame about the white facial markings, however she'd have been 3 times the price if she didn't have them and I wouldn't have been able to afford her. :D

Woop! Excellent choice of breed. Hope you have a fun summer with her.

My boy has a small patch of white at the bottom of each back leg near the coronet band. His feet and feathers are still black. Perfectly allowed in the breed description but probably a reason his price wasn't too bad either!!
