I seem to have acquired a new steed... Everyone, meet Buckers Beauty, 5 year old TB filly, just out of training :)
She arrived this afternoon, delivered by the lovely Steeleydan :)

Looks a fab prospect- though wouldnt have thought she'd been in training that recently with feet like that?!!

very nice and good luck, but just out of training???? sorry no offense intended just querying, I'm surprised at how much covering she's got to be just out of training, she's got more covering than a 5 yo filly at our yard, who's been out of race training and into re-schooling for almost a year!

We had a 3yo that ran as fat as that! Couldn't get the weight off her. She was definitely in training at the time!

She's a lovely stamp of horse. What's the plan for her?

LOL, what I meant is that she hasn't done anything bar racing, she last ran in March this year, been on a let down livery for 3 months, just grazing.
The photos look more ''round'' than she is in the flesh, but she is not in racing condition, obviously :)
I agree, TheMule - the feet are dire ;) They'll get sorted in due course :)

The plan is to socialise her a bit, get her tidied up and produced, if she turns out a decent jumper, she'll stay with me, if not that talented, I will find her an allrounder (or whatever she is suitable for) home when she is ready. :)

Good luck with her, least now you can crack on now before winter if she's had some time out from when she was in training.

She looks a nice 'workman like' build too.

Thank you :)
And yes, indeed, a proper Irish ''leg in each corner'' type. She is not very big, just over 16hh, but solid enough and I believe there might be an inch to come yet from somewhere ;)

She is lovely, but I agree with TheMule, her feet look like they haven't seen a rasp in about six months! She has a gorgeous face though and looks a nice genuine sort.

Yes, the feet are in awful state, but I actually think that there is a decent basic foot under there somewhere (for a TB, anyway :D). Not only overgrown like mad but also with bits missing. I suppose it is to be expected if she was just turned away and ''forgot about'', though.
She's cute faced and friendly, although rather timid.

She is just my sort of ex racer. Dont be too relaxed about the feet though, they wont improve overnight and I think you might find you have trouble keeping shoes on for a while. I put overeach boots on mine. I am more than sure that I am teaching you to suck eggs!!!

TBH, depending on what my lovely farrier thinks about it, I might give it a go shoeless (I daren't say barefoot as I would have to buy some swinging crystals next and subscribe to a cult ;))
I can't help being generally relaxed about everything and anything... :D :o

I have a wind chime going spare to get you in the mood! Barefoot:eek:

Wind chime? Great, that should start me off nicely on the path to sandals and flowers in my hair :D And shhhhhhhhh! don't swear!

Hey. my horse is unshod and I don't wear sandals and have flowers in my hair. Well, I do wear sandals but I'm still no hippy  :D

Pardon?
Of course she hasn't seen the farrier yet, she's only arrived this afternoon:o

seen a farrier at SOME POINT IN HER LIFE - wasnt sure i needed to make that quite so clear.

she hasnt been in training for quite some time with feet like that - has she been out at all??
