Always on here I have recommended Greyhound Rescue West of England, they are a brilliant organisation who match dogs exactly to your requirements and are incredibly friendly, helpful and supportive.

But now I can honestly say that they have an equal

If you want a sweet, well trained, well behaved rescue who fits in with no problem at all - ask Cayla

Amy had her first times off the lead today - I must admit the first one was by mistake, I was half asleep and letting them off in the paddocks before any horses went out, and let Amy off too
blush.gif
But she was so so good, coming to call whenever I asked her, ignoring the two horses which I had failed to notice in the top paddock

, and having a run around with Flick and Islay

So we went on a proper walk this morning and she was let off again, this time with a pocketful of biscuits to ensure obediance

There was no need for biscuits, she behaved perfectly, having a nice run around but always coming back when called, and if she ran ahead she would stop and look around to make sure I was still following

I have never had a rescue who has fitted in so easily and so well, so I would say that EVERYONE should get their dogs from Cayla

They have all just had a pigs ear as a treat for being so great, and for the first time I have found a disadvantage of having 3 dogs - pigs ears come in packs of two

Perhaps there might be room for one more....

You can get big packs of pig ears from your feed merchant. Well I can and it works out cheaper.
Well done Amy, she sounds like a little darlin".

I can only get them in blue and yellow packs Mattilda, which are extortionately expensive in whatever size

I might go to Pets at Home or somewhere similar and see if I can get them cheaper
smile.gif

And as for you Cayla
tongue.gif
- you had your chance, you said no, she is mine FOREVER now

Do you have a Countrywide near you? I did a treat run this morning and they had a massive sack of pig's ears for a tenner (which I avoided, Dax is still on a strict diet until we get this not-pooing-on-walks thing sorted
tongue.gif
).

You have just reminded me about the meet-up, I wonder if we'll be even remotely well-behaved enough to attend by the summer...
blush.gif
Although I'd love to meet the skinny dog trio!
grin.gif

Feed Dax enough Pigs Ears and you won't have to worry about her not pooing on walks, she'll have no choice in the matter!!
grin.gif

Otto isn't allowed Pig's Ear, or any form of dried pork dog treat, they go through him at a rate of knots! It's such a shame because he loves them sooooo much
frown.gif

Gazey - the Jollyes in Gloucester (near Countrywide if you haven't seen it) does huge boxes of 50 Pig's Ears, Otto always gives them a longing sniff when we go in
grin.gif

Awesome thanks Henmeister

I was wondering about giving that place a try, so will look tomorrow if I get a chance

I got the ones today from Countrywide BC, but they only had small bags of them
frown.gif

I did wonder about cutting them in half, pigs have really big ears dont they

But by the time I had thought of it, it was too late, Flick and Amy had finished theirs (Islay only has half her teeth so takes a little longer

)

I've tried breaking up pigs ears and it was impossible, they are so tough!

My local feed merchants has a bin and you can get as many pigs ears as you like - might be worth checking out smaller places that do working dog food?
