Sorry guys, you are going to be so fed up of me soon

I went to see her with my Dad at 3pm, and as I knew where she was stabled I shouted her name when I was walking to reception. Her head shot out of the stable and she screamed at me and started banging on the door

I was so pleased to see her to bright and looking 'normal' is the best way I can describe it. Her eyes were not dull and heavy, they were bright and alert.

I told them I was there and then walked over to the edge of the isolation area and just started speaking to her and telling her what a proud mummy I was of my dizzy orange girl. The vet came out and just said she was pleased with her progress through the day. She said she still had the diarrahoea, but that was to be expected as she has not eaten since Thursday morning. They want to get it sorted and discover why she had it in the first place, but while she is comfortable they are just concentrating on getting the fluids into her through the drip.

She was due some hay (she is having a few handfuls every two hours) so the resident vet who I have been speaking to every day, Mel, said she would give her this one. Grace watched her every move and as soon as she put the haylage over the door Grace's head went down and did not come up until she had eaten it! That was such a great thing for me to see... and she has not struggled swallowing since the surgery so it looks like that was just due to being in pain

Anyway, here are some photos...

This was as we got there and the most beautiful head shot out from the stable when I shouted her and then was being her usual nosy inquisitive self. She even looks bright eyed on this photo!

I have to say she looks very bright for going through surgery the day before. Hopefully she is on the medn now.

I expected her to be much quieter, and she was in the morning... but when we got there she was kicking the door and really wanting something to eat.

That's fab news! I'm so pleased that Grace is feeling better (and looking good too for having had surgery)! It must have been so wonderful to see her again. I'm so pleased for you!

The normally are awfully quiet after surgery for up to three days. I would not be overly concerned she was quiet this morning, that is likely still part of the hangover from anesthesia

Gosh she looks wonderful considering she was only 24hrs post GA and surgery!!! You must be so relieved to see her so perky!!! Sending MORE healing vibes and still keeping everything crossed!!!!!! (((((((VIBES)))))))))

Thank you... I was fully prepared for her to be dull and listless still

I was quite shocked when I saw her to be honest, I thought it would be so much worse than it was. I was actually dreading walking around the corner

My main concern is that she still has the diarrahoea...

Thats great news and she looks fab

Excellent news! So pleased for you and Grace and glad that she's come through! Now you can look forward to bringing her home for Christmas.

I must say that I am surprised with the stable - all the hospitals I have been to here are totally close the horses in, it just looks like if she had an itch she could pull her catheter right out.

Not that is looks like she realises she is in the hospital, on an IV and is sick!

She's looking pretty good. Can tell you, as she has diarrhea she hasn't got GS. Good luck.

So glad to hear she is improving and to see her looking cheerful. Bet it was such a relief to see her on the mend. Best wishes Becki and hope this step in the right direction for Grace's health is the start of a really good Christmas for you.
