All I need now is a mare so I can improve this breed. Stud fee is POA as I had to pay a huge amount for this Unicorn. He is not 18hds he is in fact much bigger. If anyone has a mare thatmight suit this unicorn please feel free to PM me. Oh and no timewasters as I have my hands full avoiding his horn, he is very prone to shaking his head. Unicorns are not for the feeble!

Wonder what the 5 stage vetting will say? Are you insuring him for aerial team chasing, or will you use a bungee to attach him to the pitch?

Also, have you bought a V bandz for his horn, when you emerge from junctions out hacking it will give drivers extra warning.

Oh I am so jealous...had to work so couldnt get to view quick enough.

Make sure he isnt a dirty stopper if you jump him as you will need some serious head protection!

OMG he had me pinned to the wall this morning. I am going to put him back on the market. If you have to ask the price you cant afford him.

Pastie2 it is early days yet. Give the lad another chance. Think how much you can save on air fares this Summer. He can fly you anywhere you want to go. Also he will win every jumping competition you enter and is probably quite a snazzy mover who will sweep the board Grand Prix dressage. You are so VERY lucky.

Its all very well to point out the good bits Divasmum, but have you ever tried to keep a bloody unicorn behind post and rail fencing?

Have you considered a "tethering" option, slightly unorthodox (unless you graze your ponies regularly on a grass verge) but it may be the cheaper alternative to roofing your fields, alternatively consider a move to a yard with an indoor school!

Congratulations
How was the trip to Narnia, I heard there has been major traffic works around the wardrobe junction? ;)

It was hellish monkeybum13, gridlocked at the wardrobe. Then he wouldnt load so had to fly him back! No unicorns are not for me, but you have to try everything. He could have been just the ticket, but no. Perhaps thats why you dont see many about.

Yes that option did come to mind, then I thought of all the problems with the bloody horn. He will just have to go on the market. Hopefully someone will be out there with more knowledge of the breed. It goes to show that you shouldnt buy on a whim!

Dont rush into selling him...just think what he would be like in the Puissance!
You would be unbeatable and glory would be yours!

Pfft you can't keep in a unicorn who doesn't want to be kept in. They are magic, they can get out of anywhere *poof*!

You have to form a bond with him! :p I think lots of apples would help, and more than a day. They are just very sensitive. I can offer you a box of baileys truffles and half a box of after eights for him. He can sleep in the warm in my house. :)

(i wish i had seen that ad :D)

I have been thinking about what you said about him being much bigger than 18 hands. Whereas horses/ponies get measured at the withers perhaps unicorns get measured at the knee. That would give him a height equivalent to more like 42 hands in horse terms.

Are you having trouble getting rugs to fit? May I suggest a magic cloak, that way no-one will be able to see when you've left the poor think out naked all night.

I have to say, I am seriously interested in having him as the stud for my Dizz. Given that the foal would be half unicorn I'm hoping that it will be able to float around the womb as it were and not put much of a strain on Dizz's pelvis.... :D

Mrs Mozart you are a genius to think of the cloak and the womb! Perfect.

See, not just a pretty face

Hm. Just wondering just how fast a unicorn/Dizzy cross would be able to spin.....

Dearest Mrs M, you are more than welcome to use this Unicorn. I am affraid the stud fee might be out of your bounds of your bank account as I had to pay a vast amount to get him, the fact that I am engaged to Bill Gates might have something to do with it! Bill and I havealways wanted someting that nobody else has, we are the most wealthy couple in the world. Normally I would settle for one of your hot choccies and marshmallows, not in this case though. I am sure The Dizzy One would love him and be proud to be in foal to him and of all the mares on this forum I think she is the one who could produce a sane and sensible offspring to this very volitile equine. I await your response and booking.

Money? Pah! I laugh at money. Indeed I have just been down the back of the sofa and found an old toffee penny, an only slight used bandaid, and at least three pence in loose change; couple all of that with the sheer privilege of Dizz being the first and well, what can one say?!

I think that, givne the uniquiness of the occassion, a new vat of hot choccy will have to be prepared, and I am indeed in the process even as we speak...

would my mare who is by PEGASUS be suitable? Rugs can be a problem for her due to her wings and cutting slits in the rug makes a real mess of the waterproof element. I have emailed Horsewear Ireland to see if they can make a made-to-measure. I think sending my pegusi mare to your unicorn could produce a golden cross, it could win the Derby the Oaks and the Puissance as well as Olympic Dressage. In the right hands with sensitive schooling ,even win Gold at Polo -on-ice. As to stud fee, would you accept a 50% share in the resulting foal? I would keep the TV rights and book Royalties but you could pay the livery fees? Good Deal?????????
