The lady that loaned my very easy mare decided she wants something that can "do a bit more". Personally i dont think she is ready for something with a bit of fight in it but it is her choice. She has found another horse on loan that hasnt been ridden properly for 4 years and is about 18 (no accounting for taste). Ok so i am a little bitter.
I advertised my mare "Happy Hacker" everywhere and had a really good response back. So i invited 4 people to come and try her and after a lot of thought decided that 2 people doing a few days each would work out well as i never ride her because i am too fat.
I have picked 2 wonderful ladies, one rode my mare really well and is nice and confident, she has had a horse on part loan before and has ridden at a riding school. She loves hacking and only goes in the school for exercise which is exactly what i want for my mare.
The second lady had a horse on part loan for 2 years that sadly died of twisted gut and it took her over a year to want to loan again, she went to see a horse that ditched her in canter into a fence while she was trying him out. This really knocked her confidence and when she came to see my very safe mare was quite nervous, however after 10 mins she was trotting round the school and pushing my mare on (which she needs). I am going to be down with her for the first month or so I can help her with her confidence which is fine because i am already down with my other horse. The reason i am willing to help her so much is that she has a lovely seat and hand and most importantly my mare likes her.
I really hope it all works out as i really like both ladies.
