Many thanks to all who replied, through a horsey contact I have spoken to a lovely lady who has a litter of working ESS. 2 weeks old and have the choice of 2 little girls. I have the pics on my mobile and am going to see the pups next week to make a decision, blimey, how do I decide which one!! Thinking forwards is definitely helping to ease the hurt over Sophie, she will never be forgotten as she truly was a special little dog. We have already begun to compile lists of names, (any original suggestions greatfully received) and have that "kid waiting for Xmas" feeling inside.

Splendid! I've always found that planning for a new person (be it horse or dog) after the loss of the previous one does help a lot. Nothing replaces them but that horrible gap in one's life will be filled.

As to deciding which one, see who comes over to say "Hi" first.
