I have had it! Now my bluff is seriously being called.

well done- give him the extra 250 and hope u dont ever have to deal with him again! good luck it all goes smoothly with the change over and official bits x

Fingers crossed for you, hope you get the vet out on monday and all goes well! That extra money won't seem an issue once you come home knowing she is yours! I've done it myself, I normally won't budge on price but the buyer did manage to get another £250 out of me - although I had already dropped her price by £1200 the horse wasn't worth what she wanted at the time. Happily I can say after getting the wee girl home she turned out to be worth the £250 extra about 5 times over.

having her be ours is priceless I suppose.

I have already found ways to make it seem like I never had to pay a penny extra and then some. I went through all my old stuff and found a ton of stuff to get on Ebay or sell locally. I have two saddles that can go that I have never even used for starters.

By the time I am done perhaps it will be like a paid nothing for her! lol

Just a bit confused (what's new there, I suppose!)

Why is everyone thinking the man is dodgy. He said what would you pay, ($1000), he said he wanted $2000 - and said that he would accept $1750. He hasn't budged from that position from the word go. So to be honest, despite the fact that you are probably paying well over the odds for the horse, nothing dodgy has happened at all. The only thing he did which could be a little "off" was when he said you could have her for the summer, then decided he wanted the money and needed to sell her. As nothing was in writing, that is just the way things go sometimes.

Although you have paid over the odds, I am sure that she has years of useful life left in her and you will have a lovely time together!!!

I'd tell him to pick her up today. As much as I loved the horse, I wouldn't let the guy treat me like that. I would deep inside disassociate myself from the horse, say my goodbyes and wait.

Who knows, maybe he'll panic when you say that.

I mean the horse in question is not that young anymore. Yes, she is safe, but I fail to believe that she is the only safe and sane horse in America that is available for sale in today's market.

I hope you will get the horse you want - whether it's this one or another... I'm sure there's one out there for you...
