have you ever discovered anything unexpected about your horse's breeding?

Man O War - was a grey if I remember old TB bloodlines correctly! - How cool - incredible horse!

Mine is 1/2 Brother to Black Drum...

Well when i bought my Danish Warmblood i wasn't interested in his bloodlines i just loved him. But when i got his papers i looked them up and his dad is Come Back II and he has Ladykiller and Langraf in his breeding and i thought it was great going through the pictures of his bloodlines and seeing where he got parts of him from. I have heard of Man O War but i don't know much about him.

mill reef in my tb mare which explains a hell of a lot!
allpedigree website is fab, especially for TB's as you can trace them back to the 1700 original sires..

I found out my Shetland's grandfather is Eschonchan Bacchus, who apparently is one of the best shetlands who ever lived! We only paid £250 for her as a pony for my brother.

My Haflinger's father, Afloyd, was a National Champion who had to be PTS, found this out through research and I'm really glad the people we bought her off didn't know this as she is worth more than we paid

My horse is related to Ringwood Cockatoo...they're uncle and nephew i think...
He has court martial and hyperion directly related
and there are a few others that are impressive.....It's just pretty excited about it lol

My horses sire's side has the same lines as Marious and Milton...think its his great great great gandsire sired Marious...something like that anyway.

I bought a 5yr old last year in really poor condition that i thought would with tlc and feeding make a middle weight show hunter/working hunter that my daughter and i could affiliate. Not really into showjumping breeding but when i looked at his passport thought OMG, he is a grandson of Concorde, great grandson of Voltaire and ladykiller and also has the following courville, hyperion, marius, marco polo and furioso 11 The list goes on!

Yep - my mare has brill breeding and from her dam side her sister is being jumped by Laura Kraut in the US and her brother has sired lots of great horses - she herself is by Lancer III who is by Landgraf I, and those stallions speak for themselves! I love finding out about dam lines though, this is before embryo transfer so it is great to see how the dam line horses are doing - all of them are exceptional horses
