Well got a bone from the butcher as read about them having bones it ok. So she had it on Thursday night. Half of it as it was quite large and then took it off her. Yesterday came home from work and she had pooed everywhere. Last night the same and this morning the same. Havent given her any more food and she does not look happy. She has been drinking so shall I not give her any food today and let it get out of her system? So the last food she had was Friday morning.

You've done the right thing, by just giving her water, do you mean she hasn't eaten since yesterday or the previous Friday? If its just yesterday then I would starve her completely again today and the tomorrow morning give her something really light like scrambled egg (no milk) and maybe some chicken and rice for supper if shes OK. If she continues to stay squitty you could get some kaobiotics from the vets, which is basically kaolin...... If she starts to strain lots or vomitting take her to the vets just incase she has issues with the bones, I have seen lots of dogs who get the bones impacted in the last part of the bowel, we have had to literally glove up and ease them out, if they sit too long in the last bit, they set like concrete and stick to the walls of the bowels.

Don't worry about giving your dog bones, mine have always had them, its just some dogs are highly sensitive, especially if they have been smoked! As long as you give raw bones and not cooked you shouldn't have a problem.

Don't worry too much xx

Thank you DD, the last food she had was yesterday morning (friday) as she seemed ok thursday night. She is drinking fine and has not been sick. She does have a very sensitive stomach but I thought a bone might help her teeth. Never mind will see how she goes today.

I scale my own dogs teeth when the plaque gets thick enough, was about to do my terriers last week and that day he was up the river munching on sticks, when he came home his teeth were perfect hehe , so know what you mean xx

I would suggest that it's th novelty of raw meat that's upset her. If it was a beef bone, probably it upset her digestion. My lot need to be introduced slowly to new stuff: I had epic dioarreah today from one puppy after giving turkey last night.

Iagree with this ^^

We gave Betsy raw last night after not having it for a while and she has the squits today.

Thanks for your help guys. Anyway starved her for 24 hours and then did the rice, chicken and yogurt for the next 24 hours and she is a little better. Lesson learnt only give her small bones to start off with the trouble is with my girl she will go on until its all eaten.
