I have my B & E test on Monday, can anyone offer any tips?

Hi,

As per title really. Have my trailer test Monday. I have been out about 7 times now in the trailer from not doing anything at all with the trailer, this includes two lessons (the rest with friends/family)

I feel I have sussed the reversing just about, though my success rate at actually completing the revers is still not really there, I can do it (eventually! lol) Though I am hoping to go out at least another 4times before my test.

Can any offer tips though or a few words of wisdom ..lol ..??

I passed my Friday!!! It’s really not that bad.

Use your mirrors lots and especially when pulling away from r-abouts, junctions etc check both mirrors first.
When they pull you over on the side of the road, before you pull away make sure you look over your shoulder as well as using mirrors.
Make sure trailer hand brake is on before you uncouple and re couple.
With the reversing I found it much easier to look over my shoulder out the back window to see where the trailer was going but also make sure you use mirrors as well as they like you to be aware all around you. and I found it easier to do the reversing very slowly

Im sure you know all this anyway and practice as much as you can it will really help!

Hey, well done. Good for you. I bet it's great now all that freedom to take the neds out. That's what i cannot wait for, to be able to go somewhere when I want!

Ok, yes mirrors mirrors and more mirrors. I plan on just looking at them regardless all the time! Also, yes plan to revers slowly. Cannot keep track of how many times I have jack knifed the whole thing by going too quickly -

Also dont forget when doing the uncouple recouple, as well as putting the handbrake on that when you re connect the lights you check them, so treat it as a whole new journey. Mirrors for any change in speed or direction, and dont dawdle, yes you'd go slower with the horses on board but not in your B+E test.

Ans just to add when u recouple you have to go around and check the trailer is secure - ie all locks done up pins down - spare wheel ok etc - bit petty but my instructor said people have failed not doing that.
