I have paid the deposit! I have our lorry looked after by Dave Copping at Hightbury Horseboxes (he makes Tim Stockdales) and I rang him this week as I needed a part. I mentioned to his wife what had happened to me and told her we were looking to downsize our lorry. She immediately got Dave to ring me and turns out that he has just made a 3.5t that I can afford. We went to look today and it is lovely - a vauxhall movano which extra height added for horses - it is bigger than my 7.5 horse area. Two vents in the roof, a window to check and he will add cooker, sink and anything else we need. It's a lovely sea blue so will match Jack's colours

It can also be upgraded to 4 tonnes if we ever decide to get another horse. I just need to sell mine now - so Horsemart here I come.

However I think it is going to very hard to get insurance for Jack - Dave has told me to try NFU - Chaucer who I am with won't insure anyone under 23

That's the good new, the bad is that despite OH telling me he was not with her, he has moved into a flat 5 minutes away in Stevenage

I have emailed him and told him to start telling me the truth - I am hurting enough

That was quick! Sounds like a very smart little box. Your current box is lovely and needs to go in Horse and Hound and Horsequest. An ad on BD classifieds is cheap and I sold our last one through there as well as our last horse.

Sorry to hear what happened with your OH

That's good news about the lorry though, I am insured on my lorry through the NFU...been insured with them since I was 21, so you should be able to get Jack insured with them

Only made it £26 more expensive to add me on the insurance so wasn't too bad at all

If I hear of anyone looking for a lorry like yours I'll send them your way

How do you tell someone how much they have hurt you without sounding whiney - he just doesn't seem to care or maybe he is just too loved up with her

I have my 3.5t insured with NFU. A word of advice! When I insured it originally they wanted another £300 to add a young driver but said I could add them for £10 for 3 days as required so I decided to take that option. I did this once and the 2nd time I rang to do it they checked again and charged me another £20 odd to add her for the rest of the year - about 10 months. It is now any driver over the age of the named young driver for the same premium as I was paying for just me as a named driver!

Will 2nd NFU as being reasonable to insure U21's our non HGV lorry cost about £20 extra to insure our daughter (20) - which is alot different to some quotes!!
One step at a time and you will get there - as those have said before - its his loss!!

new lorry sounds lovely! I'm trying to persuade my dad that we should get a movano van to convert to save money with the 7.5T...

really feel for you with the whole situation. You deserve a lot better though, and you need to keep on telling yourself that. In my opinion, some men just simply arent capable of the basic behaviours needed in a relationship, ie trust and loyalty. I think their brains arent programmed correctly, so without having a transplant, they'll never change. You watch over time - he'll do the same with the new woman as he has done with you.

Its lucky to have horses around at times like this to cuddle up to

Highbury Horseboxes are lovley

David Coppen is lovley too! After our breakdown extravangansa on the way to cheshire [went over a wheelarch which subsequently cut the break wires... started going down a hill..put on break nothing! 2 horses in the lorry closed the whole M6 toll so we could unload them both into a trailer and then mum & the lorry get sent to be repaired and they finally arrive at midnight in cheshire!] He's very nice

does a brilliant job

Ooooooo how exciting, i have a movano and it also has the extra head room. there is more than in the big 7.5t on the yard. Lovely, light and airey and everything travels really well in it.....soo easy to drive too.

I tried to get a quote from NFU and they told me they dont insure drivers under 25 and i was 24 when we got the box.....odd as it seems like others have been insured with them?!?! We went with SEIB in the end who have been great so might be worth a call
