Well, my new horsebox had the most important job in the world this morning; we went to pick up Grace from Leahurst and take her to the Yorkshire Equine Centre where she will stay while I am away
My horsebox ran like a dream... we got to Leahurst and read through her discharge notes. The sutures have been removed and all the swelling that was at the back of her tummy when I saw her on Sunday has completely gone
Her legs are still a little swollen, but there is a definite improvement since Sunday, and she has been sent home with flamazine as the scabs I mentioned to the vet did seem to be causing the soreness
We got her ready to come home, and as soon as she saw the box she started pinging a bit
I led her straight up the ramp and she went straight up then tripped a bit on the final step up and stood very confused as to how she was to get her back legs on. I let her stand for about 3-4 mins and then pushed her bottom over and she figured it out
Apart from a few shouts, Grace travelled without a sound. I was worried she wouldn't travel as well as normal as she has never travelled herringbone and has never been in a box, only a trailer
But she was munching happily when I opened up the ramp (it had been almost a two hours journey door to door) and hadn't even thrown one bead of sweat.
I was also a bit worried about her coming out because she tends to throw herself down my Equi-Trek ramp
But, Grace being my little superstar walked down really carefully
So... here are some pictures of her in her holiday accomodation
She is looking VERY scruffy and hairy, not like my Gracey at all, but I couldn't care less!!!
