but they were absolute gems this weekend!

Chester and Merlin were on display pretty much all weekend. They met so many kids (and adults) that wanted to cuddle them. I was on the Technogroom tradestand Sat and Sun doing some grooming demonstrations. On the Saturday they shared duties with another dog that a client of mine brought along - a wee shih tzu called Snuffy.

I was most impressed with Chester however. Not only did he not show any of his usual tendancies to want to have a go at other dogs, he absolutely revelled in the attention being put on him. Merlin was a bit shyer, which really surprises me cos he's usually so needing to be the center of attention - and as a typical poodle he is a poser. But this time he was a bit reluctant - never bad and at a few points I felt kind of bad for him cos he was completely surrounded by small children!

I'll get uploading some pics later. Right now I'm too distracted by their snoring! :)

The boys posing with....well...the boys! and me! Technogroom stand kindly allowed me to come talk my head off for the duration of the show. Chester and Merlin were the stars of the stand! :)

It was a good show, but glad it's over for now!

Poor puppies ... sent out to work by their mother and worn completely out :D. Well done to both of them for being such good pups :). Looks like you had a great time too.

Ooh superstar dogs, will they be signing autographs later. Glad the weekend went well, bet you are pretty shattered too never mind the boys.

Most definitely will be signing autographs, particularly Merlin who seems to think that the limelight was made for him alone....and yet Chester was the more quietly confident one of the weekend...which rather surprised me. :D

What's funny is that the pictures don't really give the depth of how many people were crowing them. I was only able to get photos when I could come up for air from the demonstrations. They made lots of new friends.

At one point I was getting them out for a potty break and as Chester can be a bit funny with other dogs, I make sure I can see far enough ahead to avoid confrontation. Merlin's fine -but Chester can be a booger if taken by surprise. So we came across the group of Rotties that were there from Rottie Rescue. One had his eye on us, so I contemplated for a second whether the space to get past it was a large enough gap...and just then out of nowhere, from amongst the group came a labrador lunging and barking at Merlin so we did a very sharp right hand turn to find a different route. Merlin and Chester never even broke stride...I was very proud of them both.

Galupy, poor boys only got paid in gourmet biscuits and new toys. Slave wages I tell ya! And the look I got when they changed shifts! You'd think they were child laborers!

Lovely boys! And so well behaved, too! :D

On a slightly different note, you and I have something (two things, actually!;)) in common! My ned is called Merlin, and I'm also 'owned' by a Border Terrier! Small world! ;):D

Aha...now if you've got an animal in your life called Sammy I'll be well and truly spooked! ;)
